Jason Spezza (upper body) has been moved to the injured reserve list.

Spezza sustained the injury when he was smashed into the boards on Thursday. We don't know much about the severity of his injury yet, but placing him on the IR list means that he won't be available for at least a week. He has 18 goals and 40 points in 52 contests in 2015-16. Dallas has called up Radek Faksa as a result of this injury.

Sean Couturier will miss the next four weeks with a lower-body injury.

Couturier has nine goals and 24 points in 40 games this season. He might not have developed into the prolific scorer we were looking for, but he is an important part of the Flyers' puzzle. This is a tough setback for the squad as they try to claw their way into the playoffs.

Coach Lindy Ruff said that Jason Spezza suffered an upper-body injury Thursday night.

It was originally reported as a lower-body ailment. "It looks like a little bit of time," Ruff said when asked about the length of the injury. "I'm going to say it's more than a few days." We may get a better timetable after he is re-evaluated.

Getzlaf picked up just his fourth goal of the season during Thursday's 4-2 win over LA, but he also tallied a helper giving him 34 points in 42 games thus far. During the streak he now has a goal and six points.

Through six games with the Ducks, Perron has scored three goals and eight points which includes his goal and two assist game against LA in Thursday's 4-2 win. If he's still available, pick him up immediately and ride the wave.

With his trio of assists on Thursday's night, Artemi Panarin picked up his sixth three-point game of the season.

Though, it was his first career three-assist game. He now has 11 multi-point games as well, in just his rookie campaign. Simply remarkable, Panarin now has 32 assists and 50 points in 55 games thus far.

Antti Niemi won his 20th game of the season in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over Colorado.

Niemi turned away 21 of 24 shots faced for the victory in what's been a defiantly resurgent season for the veteran netminder. His record now stands at 20-9-5, which is pretty good considering how much time he's splitting with Kari Lehtonen.

Jordan Eberle led the potent Edmonton Oilers offence on Thursday night with two goals and an assist in their 7-2 victory over Ottawa.

All Oilers forwards except for Nail Yakupov managed to chip in at least a point. Eberle and his linemates Connor McDavid and Benoit Pouliot combined for seven points in the game. Eberle now has 27 points in 39 games this season.

Steve Mason steered the Flyers over the Predators on Thursday night, making 37 saves to lead his team to a 6-3 victory.

The Predators fired more than double the amount of shots the Flyers managed, but Mason was a workhorse and secured the two points himself. Mason is now 12-12-6 this season and has won two straight games.

Minnesota native Ryan McDonagh scored a goal and added an assist to push the Rangers past the Wild 4-2 on Thursday night.

The 26-year-old also racked up over 25 minutes of ice time and finished with a +3 rating. It was just another day at the office for the all star captain of the Rangers. He has seven goals and 26 points so far this season.
