Henrik Lundqvist has set a new franchise record for the most wins by a goaltender.
Lundqvist gained his 302nd win on Tuesday, putting him one ahead of Mike Richter on the Rangers' list. It wasn't exactly his best performance, given that he allowed four goals on 39 shots, but the team backed him heavily in an 8-4 victory. "It's an incredible feeling, a proud feeling," said Lundqvist. "Being up there with those guys, you look at the names of those who played for this organization for a lot of years, and also the franchise has been around for so long, it's kind of surreal when you think about it. But I want to keep gong on, obviously, and I hope I have a lot of years left to keep winning." He's tied for 26th place in the NHL's all-time wins list, just one shy of Olaf Kolzig and three behind Billy Smith.
