The New Jersey Devils have agreed to an entry-level contract with Ben Thomson.

Thomson had 45 points and 90 penalty minutes in 55 OHL contests with the Kitchener Rangers and North Bay Battalion in 2013-14. He was taken by the Devils in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Bo Horvat scored his 16th goal of the season on a pass from All-Star Brock Boeser in Tuesday's 5-4 loss against the Avalanche.

Horvat scored for the third consecutive game, and the fifth outing in the past six contests. He was playing at an All-Star level early in the season, but an early-December injury stunted his growth. After a exhibiting a little bit of rust in the first nine games of his return, he has re-discovered his scoring touch and is once again a potent fantasy force, one of few in Vancouver this season.

Anders Nilsson allowed five goals on 34 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime setback against the visiting Colorado Avalanche.

Nilsson was actually staked to a 4-1 lead late in the second period, but a couple of late penalties in that period resulted in two power-play goals. He still held a 4-3 lead into the final 20 minutes, but Tyson Barrie again erupted on the man advantage with 3:01 left to force overtime. It was yet another PPG by Nathan MacKinnon in the extra session which was the final nail in his coffin. Silly infractions and the penalty kill unit did Nilsson no favors in this one.

Tyson Barrie scored a power-play goal while adding four assists in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win at Vancouver.

The rearguard forced overtime with the game-tying goal with just 3:01 remaining in regulation, and he assisted on Nathan MacKinnon's OT winner. He was making up for lost time, as he has managed just one goal and three assists over his past 12 outings. It's uncertain if his hand injury was still playing a factor in his struggles over the past four weeks, but it certainly didn't look like a problem on Tuesday.

Nathan MacKinnon scored a power-play goal in overtime Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks and he added three assists.

The All-Star MacKinnon totaled a game-high six goals with a blocked shot, a minor penalty and a hit across 23:37 of ice time. It wasn't all great, as he won just nine of his 22 faceoffs. Most fantasy pools do not go that deep, however, and the four-point night was tremendous. It appears he is over the shoulder ailment which forced him out for eight games. Feel confident starting him again across all fantasy formats.

Blake Wheeler picked up a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

Wheeler's power play goal in the first period gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at the time. He also registered the primary assist on Patrik Laine's tally on the man-advantage in the final minute of regulation. The Jets captain finished the night with two shots on goal and three hits in 21:53 of ice time. The 31-year-old is up to 17 goals and 69 points in 60 games. He's riding a six-game point streak. The veteran has put himself in the Hart Trophy discussion. Dustin Byfuglien also scored for Winnipeg on Tuesday night.

Dion Phaneuf scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Phaneuf's power play marker at the 17:05 mark of the second period gave the Kings a 2-1 lead at the time. He's been a terrific addition since being acquired from the Ottawa Senators last week. Phaneuf has scored three goals in four games since joining Los Angeles. There's no way he'll be able to keep this up, so his fantasy owners should enjoy it while it lasts. The 32-year-old has six goals and 19 points in 57 games this season. Alec Martinez, Torrey Mitchell and Dustin Brown also scored for Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

Logan Couture notched a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Couture opened the scoring at the 6:35 mark of the second period. He also registered the primary assist on Joonas Donskoi's go-ahead goal (2-1) later on in the period. The 28-year-old finished the game with a plus-2 rating and two shots on goal in 19:48 of ice time. Couture has racked up seven points in his last seven games. He's up to 24 goals and 46 points in 56 games this season. Mikkel Boedker added the game-winning goal for the Sharks on Tuesday night.

Viktor Arvidsson scored in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Arvidsson gave the Predators a 3-1 lead at the 4:50 mark of the third frame and that goal proved to be the game-winner. He's had a solid couple of days, as he's found the back of the net three times in his last two outings. The 24-year-old is up to 21 goals and 40 points in 57 games this season. He should come close to hitting the 30-goal mark in 2017-18. Scott Hartnell and Kyle Turris also scored for the Preds in the victory.

Alex Ovechkin found the back of the net in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ovechkin's tally at the 11:02 mark of the third period cut Tampa's lead to 3-2 at the time, but that's as close as the Capitals would come to tying the game. He finished the night with nine shots on goal and one hit in 23:14 of ice time. The Caps captain has now scored in back-to-back games. He's also picked up nine points in his last six contests. He's up to 36 goals and 67 points in 60 games this season. Ovechkin is on pace to score 49 goals and 91 points in 2017-18. Teammate Lars Eller also scored in the loss.

Brayden Point scored two goals in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Washington Capitals.

Both goals came in the opening 20 minutes of the game. His first tally made it 1-0 for the Bolts, while his second of the game extended Tampa's lead to 3-0. Point finished the game with three shots on goal, one hit and one blocked shot in 18:50 of ice time. The 21-year-old is now riding a five-game point streak (he has six points during that stretch). He's up to 23 goals and 52 points in 60 games this season. Chris Kunitz and Nikita Kucherov also scored for the Lightning on Tuesday night.

Jakub Voracek picked up two goals and an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Voracek helped set up Nolan Patrick's power play goal in the second period before he added the game-tying goal (2-2) in the third frame and the overtime winner. He finished the game with an even rating and two shots on goal in 20:11 of ice time. The 28-year-old has accumulated 15 points in his last 13 games. He's up to 13 goals and an impressive 68 points in just 60 games. The Flyers forward is currently on pace to score a career-high 93 points in 2017-18.
