Brandon Dubinsky has inked a six-year, $35.1 million contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Dubinsky had one season left on his four-year, $16.8 million deal before he would have been eligible to become an unrestricted free agent. His new contract comes with a no-movement clause. Dubinsky will continue to provide the Blue Jackets with a blend of physical play and skill. He had 18 goals, 50 points, and 98 penalty minutes in 76 games last season.

Dennis Seidenberg will reportedly sign with the New Islanders.

TSN's Darren Dreger expects Seidenberg to join the Islanders after the World Cup of Hockey. It will reportedly be a one-year contract worth $1 million.

Kyle Quincey has agreed to a one-year contract worth $1,250,000.

In 47 games with Detroit last season, he collected 11 points, 49 hits and 62 blocks. Quincey will be a depth player for the Devils in 2016-17, but he did get a one-way deal.
Sep 28 - 12:45 PM

Auston Matthews skated between James van Riemsdyk and Leo Komarov in his first session with the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

The trio just arrived from participating in the World Cup of Hockey and Toronto is split into two groups for practices, but Matthews on the top line isn't an unlikely scenario for the start of the season. The first overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft impressed at the World Cup on the top line alongside Connor McDavid.
Sep 28 - 12:13 PM

Andrew Shaw will have a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Thursday.

He picked up two majors and a game misconduct on Tuesday night in an exhibition game against Washington when he hit Capitals defenseman Connor Hobbs from behind into the end boards. Shaw dropped the gloves with Nathan Walker before he was sent off the ice.
Sep 28 - 11:56 AM

Vladimir Sobotka will indeed play in the KHL in 2016-17.

He has reported to Avangard Omsk after attempting to rejoin the Blues for the upcoming NHL campaign. Sobotka will play the final season of his KHL contract, so St. Louis will have to wait another year.
Sep 28 - 11:52 AM

As expected, Connor McDavid rejoined the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.

McDavid had three assists in three games with Team North America during the World Cup. Now that he's back with the Oilers, he skated alongside Milan Lucic and Jordan Eberle. It wouldn't be shocking to see that trio on the ice together in Edmonton's season opener as well.
Sep 28 - 5:03 AM

Brad Marchand scored a goal and an assist in Team Canada's 3-1 win over Team Europe in Game 1 of the World Cup Final.

Marchand opened the scoring 2:33 into the game and he added an assist on Patrice Bergeron's third period goal. The Bruins forward finished the game with a plus-1 rating, four penalty minutes, four shots on goal and one hit in 17:27 of ice time. Marchand has had an incredible tournament so far. He has four goals and three assists in five contests. Steven Stamkos scored the game-winner for Canada. They'll look to sweep the best-of-three series on Thursday night.
Sep 27 - 11:17 PM

Alexander Radulov scored a goal and an assist in his first game with the Montreal Canadiens.

The Canadiens defeated the Washington Capitals 5-2. Radulov opened the scoring with a power play goal in the first period and he assisted on Nathan Beaulieu's power play goal in the same frame. Radulov will be a risky fantasy play this year, as he's making his way back to the NHL after a long stint in the KHL. As excited as some people might get over this performance, we have to remember that this was just a preseason game against mediocre competition. Radulov will be a boom-or-bust fantasy option in standard leagues this season.
Sep 27 - 10:39 PM

Marc-Andre Fleury allowed three goals on 19 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

He played the first two periods of the game before being replaced by Casey Desmith at the start of the third period. It's not an ideal result for a guy who's battling Matt Murray for the starting gig. Regardless of tonight's outcome, we have to remember that this is just one preseason game. Fleury has plenty of time to redeem himself for this mediocre performance.
Sep 27 - 10:31 PM

Wayne Simmonds scored two goals in Philadelphia's 4-0 win over the New York Islanders.

It might just be another preseason game, but it's nice to see Simmonds gets off to such a good start in 2016-17. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes, three shots on goal and four hits in 15:31 of ice time. If he stays healthy, the Flyers forward should come close to the 30-goal mark this season.
Sep 27 - 10:25 PM

Mika Zibanejad scored a goal and added two assists in his first preseason game with the New York Rangers.

The Rangers defeated the Islanders by a score of 5-2 and Zibanejad's name could be found all over the scoresheet. He scored a power play goal less than five minutes into the game and he picked up a pair of assists on goals by Brandon Pirri and Dylan McIlrath. The Rangers traded an important piece of their team (Derick Brassard) to acquire Zibanejad and they'll hope the young Swede will finally establish himself as a solid point producer at the NHL level.
