Steve Mason (finger) got back on the ice Monday for the first time in three weeks.

He suffered a broken pinky finger while playing ball hockey. It looks like Mason will be available for training camp, which is just a month away. We'll let you know if that changes.

Nick Foligno notched two goals and an assist on Thursday night to surpass the 100 goal mark in his career, but it couldn't lift Columbus as they lost 5-4 in overtime to the Capitals.

Foligno has an impressive 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points in as many games this season. The 27 year-old achieved the milestone in the 496th game of his career. Foligno has five goals and two assists in his past five games.

Marc-Andre Fleury was perfect on Thursday night stopping 29 shots, and the Pens needed every one of those saves as they ground out a 1-0 victory over Colorado.

Fleury now leads the league with six shutouts, as the 30-year-old won his third straight game and improved his record to 18-4-2. Fleury is unbeaten in regulation in his past six games, while owning a .930 save percentage and 2.01 goals against average so far this season.

Sidney Crosby will return to the Penguins' lineup on Thursday against Colorado.

Crosby has missed the team's last three games because of the mumps. He is taking regular line rushes during the pre-game warmup. Insert him into your fantasy lineup immediately. The 27-year-old has 35 points in 27 games this season.
Dec 18 - 6:54 PM

Tyler Johnson is questionable for Friday's game versus New Jersey because of a stomach virus.

He didn't take part in Thursday's practice. Johnson sits second on the Lightning with 33 points in 33 games.

Winnipeg has acquired Jay Harrison from Carolina in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

The selection originally belonged to the Ottawa Senators. In 20 games with the Hurricanes, Harrison has four points and 42 penalty minutes. Winnipeg's defense corps has been decimated with injury, so Harrison should be able to step directly into the lineup.
Dec 18 - 4:11 PM

Damon Severson will be sidelined for four-to-five weeks because of a hairline fracture in his ankle.

He was hit by a shot back on Dec. 6 game against Washington and he had been playing through some soreness. Severson didn't play Wednesday after his ankle swelled up and so he finally went for X-rays.

Ondrej Palat (lower body) is optimistic about playing on Friday.

He participated in Thursday's practice alongside Valterri Filppula and Nikita Kucherov. Palat called the session his "best day yet" after sitting out the last four games with a lower-body injury.

Ben Bishop (lower body) didn't skate Thursday.

He's feeling better and will try to hit the ice on Friday, but it's looking unlikely that he'll be available to play this weekend. Bishop doesn't expect to be out for very long after he suffered a lower-body injury on Monday.

Jaden Schwartz suffered a broken foot in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Los Angeles.

He sustained the injury when he blocked a shot by Kings defenseman Drew Doughty in the first period, but he stayed in the game. Schwartz is out indefinitely and he's been moved to injured reserve. "Hopefully he gets better and is ready to go sometime after Christmas," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We'll take a look at it on Monday." He has notched 11 goals and 27 points in 31 games this year.
Dec 18 - 12:51 PM

Viktor Stalberg has been put on waivers by Nashville.

The Predators intend to send him to the minors if he clears. "A couple of injuries early in the season have prevented this from being the season Viktor trained all summer for," GM David Poile said. "He has worked hard to return to the lineup. With Paul Gaustad and Taylor Beck day-to-day and still on our 23-man roster, the best option for Viktor and the organization at this time is to place Viktor on waivers with the hope that he will clear, go to Milwaukee to play games and continue his efforts to be ready for NHL game action." Stalberg is ready to return after being sidelined for six weeks with a knee injury.
Dec 18 - 12:34 PM

Sidney Crosby (mumps) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's match against Colorado.

He has missed Pittsburgh's last three games with the mumps, but was back on the ice for the team's game-day skate in the morning. We would consider Crosby probable to play.
