Bishop was forced to exit Monday's game versus the Rangers after two periods because of the ailment. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday.

Vincent Trocheck's lower-body injury is not expected to a short-term issue.

"We don't know the extent of the injury. We know it's not going to be a short-term thing," said coach Bob Boughner after Monday's win over Ottawa. "He's going to be reassessed, but he's coming back with us to Tampa Bay and then home to South Florida." Trocheck was forced to leave Monday's game on a stretcher.

Craig Berube will serve as interim head coach of the St. Louis Blues.

The Blues relieved Mike Yeo of his coaching duties Monday night following a 2-0 loss to Los Angeles. Berube joined the Blues as associate coach on June 15, 2017. St. Louis currently has the second-worst record in the league at 7-9-3.

Patrik Laine scored three goals in a 6-3 win over the Canucks on Monday night.

It was Laine’s second hat trick of 2018-19 and the young sniper is now up to 11 goals and 14 points this season. He scored the Jets’ last three goals, with his first of the night standing as the eventual game-winner. The 20-year old winger cemented the victory with a goal with just over five minutes remaining in the third period and followed that up with an empty-netter to complete the hat trick. It should be noted that Kyle Connor assisted on all three of Laine’s goals and scored one of his own in the win. Bryan Little and Mark Scheifele also scored for the Jets.

Matthew Tkachuk registered two goals and two assists in a 7-2 blowout win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night.

It was a quick start for the Flames as Tkachuk opened the scoring on the powerplay early in the first period and his team poured on another four goals in the period. After picking up two assists on Calgary’s last two goals of the first period, the 20-year old scored just 24 seconds into the second frame. With tonight’s output, the young winger has 11 goals and 25 points in 21 games this season. Monahan (2), Gaudreau, Bennett and Brodie also scored in the win.

Alexander Ovechkin scored two goals in Monday’s 5-4 overtime win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Tom Wilson did well to show like he was going to shoot, instead finding Ovechkin all alone for the goal. The Russian winger then followed that up with a power play marker to tie the game at four to start the third period. It’s Ovechkin’s 31st career goal against the Canadiens in 47 games, and his 21st on Carey Price. The 33-year-old winger now finds himself at 15 goals and 23 points in 20 games this season. Brett Connolly, Nicklas Backstrom and Lars Eller (OT winner) also scored in the win.

Pekka Rinne stopped 29 of 31 shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

What a performance by Rinne tonight, saving his best for the third period, denying the Lightning on plenty of chances to tie the game. He improves to 9-0-1 lifetime against Tampa. Tonight's win also moved him into a tie with Miikka Kiprusoff for the most wins in NHL history by a Finnish-born goaltender (319). Rinne's record improves to 8-2-1 on the year with a 1.69 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage.

Calvin Petersen stopped all 28 shots he faced in Los Angeles’ 2-0 win over the St. Louis Blues.

What a night from Petersen who made several huge saves. Tonight’s shutout was the first of his career. He has been quite a surprise for the Kings who are down two goaltenders. The 24-year-old netminder will see his record improve to 2-1-0 with a 1.64 goals-against-average and a .951 save percentage.

Matt Duchene scored two goals and assisted on another in Monday’s 7-5 loss to the Florida Panthers.

Christian Jaros sent a beautiful outlet pass to spring Duchene on a breakaway that the latter converted for his ninth goal of the season. Duchene then followed that up with another goal before getting an assist on Drake Batherson second of the year. The 27-year-old Duchene has been remarkably hot lately, picking up 15 points over his last seven games to bring him to 27 points in 21 games. He’s working towards a hefty new contract.

Tanner Pearson scored a goal and assisted on another in Monday’s 5-4 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

Pearson started off his night with a primary assist on Phil Kessel’s 10th goal of the year before getting his first in a Penguins uniform 5:00 into the second period. Pearson’s goal was his first since March 19th last season to end a 32-game goalless drought, which includes the playoffs. The 26-year-old now sits at three points in 20 games this season. The Penguins had a total meltdown, dropping a 4-1 lead that they held up until midway through the second period.

Jack Eichel had a goal and an assist in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Things finally seemed to be going right for the Penguins, jumping out to a 4-1 lead 5:00 into the second period but the Sabres responded with two goals to close out the period and another in the third to force overtime. That is where Eichel capped the comeback with a goal just 45 seconds into the extra frame. The 22-year-old center has five goals and 24 points in 21 games this season. His assist came on Zack Bogosian's second of the year that sparked the comeback.
