Sidney Crosby ended his 11-game goalless drought in a 5-4 overtime victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.

Crosby hadn't scored a goal since Oct. 20 against the Florida Panthers. He snapped his cold streak, the second-longest of his career, in the second period of the win over Buffalo. Crosby even picked up an assist on Conor Sheary's overtime winner. The superstar now has six goals and 15 points this season.

Curtis McElhinney is expected to start Saturday afternoon.

McElhinney has a 2.64 GAA and .900 save percentage in three contests this season. The start time is 1:00 p.m. ET, so remember to get in your lineup changes now if you need to make adjustments.
Oct 20 - 12:14 PM

Cory Schneider (hip) is expected to start Saturday night in the AHL.

As previously mentioned, Schneider has been sent to Binghamton on a conditioning stint. Playing in the AHL will allow him to shake off the rust before making his NHL season debut. "I want to just see him get through a game and see how he responds to that," Devils coach John Hynes said of Schneider's upcoming AHL start. "Play 60 minutes, be in more read and react situations. We’ve seen him in practice but it’s important for him to play in a live game situation against another opponent where the score at the end of the game does matter."
Oct 20 - 9:30 AM

Sheldon Rempal practiced with Ilya Kovalchuk and Jeff Carter on Friday.

Rempal also spent the better part of Thursday's contest on a line with the two skilled veterans. Thursday's contest ended up being a disaster for Los Angeles, but it looks like that line will stay intact. Rempal had four goals and eight points in four AHL games before he was summoned on Wednesday.
Oct 20 - 9:24 AM

There's a good chance that Ryan Getzlaf (groin) will play on Saturday.

Getzlaf took part in Friday's practice and skated alongside Isac Lundestrom and Rickard Rakell. Getzlaf has been out for five consecutive games due to the injury.
Oct 20 - 8:38 AM

Pekka Rinne (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury in the third period of Friday's game at Calgary.

Rinne appeared to be shaken up after a collision, and he left with just under 15 minutes to go in a 3-3 game. Juuse Saros took over and was tested immediately at point-blank range after the officials did not allow him to take any warm-up shots. Saros was expected to start Saturday in Edmonton, so now he'll get a little warm-up before that outing.
Oct 19 - 11:15 PM

Zach Parise scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars.

Both teams failed to score a goal in the first two periods, but the offenses came to life in the third frame. Parise registered an assist on Matt Dumba's game-tying goal (1-1) at the 9:37 mark of the frame and he added an empty-netter in the final minute of regulation to put the game to bed. Parise finished the night with a plus-2 rating, five shots on goal and five blocked shots in 18:33 of ice time. This was the 34-year-old's fourth multi-point game of the season already. Parise has two goals and nine points in seven games. He's off to a great start, but the biggest question mark will be his health.
Oct 19 - 10:43 PM

Braden Holtby was pulled after allowing four goals on just 11 shots during Friday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers.

Holtby was given the hook in favor of Pheonix Copley at the start of the second period, which seemed to give the Capitals some life. Trailing 4-1 heading into the middle frame, the Caps managed to tie the score thanks to three unanswered goals. The Capitals managed to tie the game, again, late in the third period, but they fell in the shootout. Holtby was not charged with the loss tonight. He has a 3-1-1 record with a 3.73 goals-against-average and a .881 save percentage this season.
Oct 19 - 10:33 PM

Lars Eller registered three assists during Friday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers.

Eller picked up the primary assists on goals by John Carlson, Jakub Vrana and Nicklas Backstrom. The Capitals were down 4-1 heading into the second period, but they managed to tie the score at four in the middle frame. Washington was then down 5-4 with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, but they managed to tie it up again. Eller finished the night with a plus-1 rating and two shots on goal in 16:21 of ice time. The 29-year-old now has one goal and four points in seven contests this season. He doesn't need to be owned in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 19 - 10:24 PM

Jonathan Huberdeau scored a goal and two assists in Friday's 6-5 shootout win over the Washington Capitals.

He came into this game with just two points on the season, so this was a nice offensive output for him. Huberdeau picked up the primary helpers on first-period goals by Vincent Trocheck and Colton Sceviour. He added a power-play tally with less than one minute left in the second frame to give the Panthers a 5-4 lead at the time. The 25-year-old eventually added the game-winner in the shootout to secure the win for the Panthers. Huberdeau now has two goals and three assists in five games this season.
Oct 19 - 10:19 PM

Philipp Grubauer will get the nod for Colorado on Saturday.

Grubauer is making his second straight start after stopping 27 of 30 shots in a 5-3 win over New Jersey Thursday night. Grubauer is 1-1-0 with a 3.53 GAA and .891 save percentage in two contests.
Oct 19 - 6:15 PM

Alex Tuch has signed a seven-year, $33.25 million contract extension.

That translates to a $4.75 million annual cap hit. The Golden Knights are taking a risk here given that Tuch only has 84 games on his resume and it's not like he's set the world on fire with his 15 goals and 37 points over that span. Tuch does have enough upside that this could end up being a nice signing for Las Vegas though. He hasn't been able to play yet this season due to a lower-body injury.
