Scott Wedgewood will start for the Coyotes on Thursday.

The Coyotes had been leaning on Wedgewood while Antti Raanta was sidelined with an upper-body injury. Raanta is now ready to return, but it seems like he'll be eased into the lineup by serving as the backup goaltender for now.

Alex Galchenyuk (lower body) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

It seems likely that Galchenyuk will return. He skated on the top line between Lawson Crouse and Clayton Keller during Monday's practice.
Oct 22 - 2:47 PM

Dustin Brown (broken finger) will travel with the Kings.

Brown isn't eligible to return from injured reserve until Sunday and it's believed that he could play against the New York Rangers that day. He hasn't played yet this season because of a broken finger.
Oct 22 - 2:44 PM

Anders Nilsson will start Monday's match against Washington.

It was initially reported that Jacob Markstrom would start, but it will be Nilsson. He will get a chance to bounce back after he surrendered four goals on 32 shots in a loss to Winnipeg last Thursday.
Oct 22 - 2:37 PM

Alexandar Georgiev will start Tuesday night versus Florida.

Georgiev was brought back up from the minors on Monday. He permitted seven goals on 39 shots to the Hurricanes on Oct. 7 in his previous start this season.

Anton Forsberg has been put on waivers by Chicago.

The move isn't surprising as the team doesn't want to carry three goaltenders following Corey Crawford's return from a concussion. Forsberg will head to the minors if he clears.

Michael Hutchinson will get the nod Tuesday night against the New York Rangers.

Brayden Point had a goal and two assists during Sunday's 6-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

After Cam Ward made a couple of point-blank saves, Point finally beat the veteran netminder to put the Lightning up 4-1 during the second period. This was a strong second period from Point who picked up a couple of assists prior to his goal. The 22-year-old center is up to five goals and eight points through the opening seven games of the season. Nikita Kucherov, Anthony Cirelli, Yanni Gourde and Victor Hedman also scored in the win.
Oct 21 - 10:06 PM

David Rittich allowed one goal on 45 shots during Sunday's 4-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Rittich was close to an incredible shutout performance but Mika Zibanejad's third period power play goal spoiled the backup netminder's attempt at his first career shutout. It's the 26-year-old goaltender's second start of the season, winning both and posting a 1.32 goals-against-average and a .962 save percentage.
