Smith has been rolling of late, as he's now won each of his last five outings. He's also given up two goals or fewer in each of his last three games. The Flames netminder has a 19-13-3 record with a 2.50 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this season. His fantasy stock will fluctuate throughout the season, but he's definitely worth starting in most fantasy leagues right now.

Max Pacioretty found the back of the net in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the New York Islanders.

Pacioretty has now scored a goal in four consecutive games. The Canadiens captain tied the game at four with his power play tally at the 13:01 mark of the third period. Pacioretty finished the night with a minus-1 rating, five shots on goal and two hits in 20:44 of ice time. He has 12 goals and 25 points in 44 games this season. Nicolas Deslauriers, Paul Byron and Jonathan Drouin also scored for the Canadiens in the loss.

Mathew Barzal scored a goal and two assists in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Barzal was clearly the best Islander on the ice tonight and it showed early, as he set up Anthony Beauvillier's first-period goal before adding one of his own five minutes later. The rookie also registered the primary assist on Adam Pelech's go-ahead goal (3-2) in the second period. Barzal has amassed 10 points in his last three games. He's up to 16 goals and 47 points in 45 games this season. Barzal has to be considered one of the favorites for the Calder Trophy. Islanders captain John Tavares added the game-winning goal in overtime.

Johnny Gaudreau has claimed the NHL's first star of the week for the period ending Jan. 14.

Gaudreau generated six assists and eight points in four games during that stretch. The Flames forward has amassed two goals and 11 helpers during a seven-game point streak.

Sebastian Aho has been diagnosed with a concussion and he suffered a lower-body injury on Sunday.

Aho was involved in a collision with Calgary's Mark Giordano in the contest and needed help getting off the ice. Giordano got a match penalty for the hit, but he wasn't given any supplemental discipline. Aho is listed as out indefinitely at this time. The Hurricanes don't play again until Jan. 20 because of their bye week.

Nathan MacKinnon's 20th goal of the year was the game winner on Monday versus Anaheim.

MacKinnon has five goals and nine assists during a seven-game point streak. Matt Nieto and Colin Wilson (power play) also scored in Colorado's 3-1 triumph to help the Avalanche post a seventh straight victory.

Jonathan Bernier defended 33 shots in a 3-1 win over Anaheim on Monday afternoon.

Bernier has won in each of last six appearances, which is a personal best for him. He has allowed two goals or less in each outing during that span. Bernier, who is getting a chance to be Colorado's top goaltender with Semyon Varlamov injured, has posted a record of 11-7-1 this season.

Tyler Seguin tallied the game-winning goal in overtime against the Boston Bruins on Monday afternoon.

Seguin weaved his way through three tired Boston players before tucking the puck into the net on a delayed penalty. His four-game point streak was snapped Saturday when the Stars returned from their bye week, but Seguin has been red hot lately. He has eight goals and four assists in the past 10 games. Alexander Radulov and Stephen Johns had the other markers in the match, while Jamie Benn had two assists.
