Mike Smith turned aside 33 of 34 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Smith has been rolling of late, as he's now won each of his last five outings. He's also given up two goals or fewer in each of his last three games. The Flames netminder has a 19-13-3 record with a 2.50 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this season. His fantasy stock will fluctuate throughout the season, but he's definitely worth starting in most fantasy leagues right now.

Tom Wilson (concussion) appears to be on track to return on Friday night.

Wilson fully participated in Wednesday's practice. "Yeah, I think that's a possibility," coach Todd Reirden said when asked if Wilson could return Friday. "We have to wait and see how he reacted to some contact and everything today, just see how his conditioning is moving into this weekend." Wilson has missed the past three games due to a concussion.
Dec 12 - 3:28 PM

Joe Thornton (undisclosed) is questionable for Thursday night.

Thornton did not practice on Wednesday and afterward coach Peter DeBoer said that the Sharks center is "dealing with a little something."
Dec 12 - 3:21 PM

Andrei Vasilevskiy (foot) could be an option for Thursday's game against Toronto.

Coach Jon Cooper said the decision will be up to Vasilevskiy. "It's not as much the injury as it is the cardio and how he's feeling in that respect" added the Lightning bench boss. "I'll sit down with him in a little bit and see how he feels, but he looked good out there." Vasilevskiy was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He hasn't played since Nov. 10 due to a left foot fracture, but it isn't a lingering type of injury, so once he is fully healed he is ready to go.
Dec 12 - 1:48 PM

Casey DeSmith will get the nod on Wednesday against Chicago.

The Penguins took Matt Murray off injured reserve Wednesday morning, but it seems he won't be rushed back into the crease. There is no need for that, as DeSmith has been superb. He is coming off a 2-1 shootout win over the Islanders on Monday to give him a 9-4-4 record on the year. DeSmith also has a 2.34 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 20 appearances.
Dec 12 - 12:59 PM

Matt Murray (lower body) has been activated from injured reserve.

This paves the way for Murray's return to the lineup on Wednesday night. However, it's unclear at this time if he will start against Chicago or serve as Casey DeSmith's backup. Murray hasn't played since Nov. 17 due to a lower-body injury.
Dec 12 - 11:44 AM

Doughty left the contest in the first period. After the game, Kings coach Willie Desjardins called Doughty as day-to-day, but didn't disclose the nature of the injury.
Dec 12 - 5:12 AM

Oscar Klefbom sustained a hand injury during Tuesday's game.

Klefbom was hurt while blocking a shot. He's heading back to Edmonton to be evaluated, but Oilers coach Ken Hitchcock has already said that he will be sidelined for "weeks, not days." Klefbom has been averaging nearly 26 minutes per game, so that's a huge hole to fill.

Matt Dumba scored two goals in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

The Wild put on an offensive clinic tonight. Jumping out to a huge 5-0 lead, with two power play goals scored by Dumba. The goals break a seven-game goalless drought for the blueliner. However, he has picked up 13 points over his last 13 games. Zach Parise, Nino Niederreiter, Jared Spurgeon, Charlie Coyle and Eric Staal also scored in the win.
Dec 11 - 11:07 PM

Gustav Nyquist scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Wings found themselves down 5-0 heading into the third period, but Dylan Larkin managed to put an end to Braden Holtby's shutout bid early in the final frame. Nyquist then scored the final goal of the game with just over three minutes left. Nyquist has been on a bit of a roll lately, as he has 13 points in his last nine games. He's up to eight goals and 29 points in 32 games this season.
