Sidney Crosby produced one goal and three assists in Sunday afternoon's 5-1 win over Philadelphia in Game 3.

Crosby opened the scoring on a wraparound goal at the 10:25 mark of the first period. He added helpers on markers by Evgeni Malkin (power play), Brian Dumoulin and Justin Schultz (power play) in the contest. Crosby has produced seven points in three games against the Flyers and the Penguins have a 2-1 series lead.

Ottawa has placed Zack Smith on waivers.

Smith recorded just five goals and 19 points in 68 games with the Senators last year. He still has three years remaining on his current contract with an average annual value of $3.25 million.

Nick Suzuki has been returned to Owen Sound of the OHL.

Suzuki registered 42 goals and 100 points in 64 games for Owen Sound last season. He was acquired in the trade that sent Max Pacioretty to Vegas.

Jake Allen (back) will make his preseason debut on Tuesday night.

Allen had been sidelined with back spasms at the start of training camp. "He looks good," coach Mike Yeo said after Monday's practice. "He had a net to himself today, getting him out there with the big boys, so obviously the next step now is getting him into game action." Allen is slated to play the first two periods against Washington and then Chad Johnson will take over.

Corey Perry missed Monday's preseason game due to a lower-body injury.

Perry was hurt during the pregame warmups, so Max Comtois ended up dressing instead. When asked about Perry's status, Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said he was still under evaluation.

Despite an earlier report to the contrary, the Anaheim Ducks have clarified that Ryan Kesler (hip) has not been cleared for contact.

Kesler was on the ice for Sunday's practice, but he wasn't a full participant. "Kesler joined our lineup in Group C and participated in some of the drills," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle explained. "That was the first test. There’s a long ways before medical clearance is going to come as far as him joining our full group and back into our NHL roster." Carlyle also said that Kesler is doubtful for the start of the regular season. While the news regarding Kesler isn't as good as it initially appeared, what shouldn't be lost is the fact that he's recently made significant strides towards his recovery.

Shea Theodore has signed a seven-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Theodore's new deal has an average annual value of $5.2 million. He had been a holdout at training camp. Theodore recorded 29 points in 61 games last season and he posted 10 points over 20 playoff contests.

Jamie Benn scored two goals during Saturday's 5-3 preseason win over the Minnesota Wild.

Benn bowled over Devan Dubnyk, scoring at the same time for his first of the night. His second of the night came off a nice play by Roope Hintz, who dropped the puck to Alex Radulov who then found Benn for the goal. Benn has been a model of consistency, recording at least 79 points in four of his last five seasons. He'll provide an extra bonus in fantasy this season with Yahoo swapping out penalty minutes for hits in their standard scoring settings.

Artturi Lehkonen scored a couple of goals during Monday's 5-1 preseason win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

A Justin Holl turnover led to a shot on goal by Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Lehkonen was perfectly positioned at the side of the goal for the tap in on the rebound. Lehkonen's second of the night came off another turnover, this time by goaltender Garrett Sparks who passed the puck straight to Matthew Peca who found Lehkonen alone in front for the goal. Lehkonen struggled last season but finished the year with seven goals in his last 15 games. He could have a mini breakthrough this season that could see him have his first ever 20+ goal season.

Robby Fabbri is dealing with a grade 1 groin strain.

Fabbri left Sunday's preseason game against Columbus due to the injury. This has to be an incredibly frustrating development for Fabbri, who didn't play at all in 2017-18 due to knee problems. He's going to rest for a few days before being re-evaluated on Thursday.

Corey Crawford (concussion) being available for the season opener "may be stretching it at this point," per coach Joel Quenneville.

Crawford hasn't begun practicing yet, so it's not surprising to hear that he likely won't be ready for the season opener. He might resume practicing at some point this week though, so progress is being made. He last played on Dec. 23.

Joshua Ho-Sang has been sent to AHL Bridgeport.

That has to be extremely disappointing for Ho-Sang. Not only did he not make the team, Ho-Sang wasn't even among the final roster cuts. He has a lot of offensive potential and showed some promise over 22 NHL contests last season, but he just can't seem to stick with the Islanders. The Islanders just underwent a massive management shift too, so a fresh start of sorts seemingly hasn't changed his fortunes. He's 22-years-old though, so all hope isn't lost here.
