Auston Matthews found the back of the net in Monday's 4-2 win over the Boston Bruins.

The Leafs had 1-0 and 2-1 leads in the second period, but they allowed the Bruins to tie the game both times. Matthews then gave Toronto a 3-2 advantage when he sniped a beauty past Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask with just over five minutes to go in the middle frame. That goal proved to be the game-winner. It was also Matthews' first point of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The 20-year-old finished the game with an even rating, five shots on goal and one hit in 17:11 of ice time. The Leafs now find themselves down 2-1 in this best-of-seven series. Game 4 will be played in Toronto on Thursday night.

Ryan Miller has a sprained MCL and it's estimated that he will be sidelined for about six weeks.

Miller will be re-evaluated in two weeks. He was injured in Sunday's game against New Jersey. Anaheim has claimed Chad Johnson off waivers from St. Louis to help fill the void behind John Gibson.

Anaheim has claimed Chad Johnson off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.

This may not bode well for the status of Ryan Miller, who was injured on Sunday night. Johnson has struggled with the Blues this season, posting a 2-6-0 record with a 3.54 goals-against average and .884 save percentage in 10 appearances.
Dec 11 - 12:24 PM

Jaden Schwartz (upper body) will return to the lineup on Tuesday against Florida.

Schwartz has been out for the last 11 games due to an upper-body injury. He has two goals and nine points in 15 appearances this year. He is slated to play alongside David Perron and Brayden Schenn.
Dec 11 - 12:19 PM

T.J. Oshie feels ready to return from a concussion that has kept him out of the last 11 games.

Capitals coach Todd Reirden wouldn't confirm that Oshie will play following the morning skate, though. "We'll see how he is tonight. It's game-time, but things are definitely headed in that direction, so that will be exciting if we can get him back in there tonight." He has practiced fully with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom for the past two sessions, including Tuesday's morning skate. It seems probable he will play against Detroit.
Dec 11 - 11:51 AM

Linus Ullmark will be in goal Tuesday night versus Los Angeles.

Ullmark will get his third straight start, but Carter Hutton (upper body) will be back in uniform for the contest as the backup goaltender. Ullmark has gone winless in his past three outings (0-1-2) and he was blitzed for six goals on 41 shots by Philadelphia on Saturday.
Dec 11 - 11:41 AM

Timo Meier scored two goals in a 5-2 win versus the Devils on Monday night.

The 22-year old opened the scoring for the Sharks in the first period and later gave his team some insurance in the second, making it a 4-2 game. With the pair of goals, Meier has now amassed 16 goals and 30 points so far in 2018-19. Pavelski, Simek and Hertl also scored in the win.
Dec 11 - 1:11 AM

Louis Domingue turned aside 23 of 26 shots in Monday's 6-3 win over the New York Rangers.

The Rangers were up 1-0 and 2-1 in the first period thanks to goals by Kevin Hayes, but Tampa managed to explode offensively. Domingue has done a nice job filling in for injured starter Andrei Vasilevskiy. The 26-year-old has now rattled off six consecutive victories and he has just one loss in his last 10 games. Domingue owns a 13-4-0 record with a 2.78 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage this season.
Dec 10 - 10:54 PM

Kevin Hayes scored a pair of goals in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Hayes did all of his damage in the first period, as he managed to give his team 1-0 and 2-1 leads. Unfortunately for the Rangers, it wasn't enough to give them a victory. Hayes finished the night with a plus-2 rating, five shots on goal and one hit in 20:25 of ice time. The 26-year-old has put together back-to-back multi-point games. He has seven goals and 21 points in 30 games this season. Jesper Fast also scored for the Rangers on Monday night.
Dec 10 - 10:49 PM

Steven Stamkos scored a hat trick in Monday's 6-3 win over the New York Rangers.

Two of Stamkos' three goals were scored on the man-advantage. He also found the back of the net once in each of the three periods. Stamkos' goals tied the game up twice, while his third tally made it 5-2 for the Bolts in the third frame. The 28-year-old has picked up seven points in his last two games and 12 points in his last seven games. Stamkos has 15 goals and 33 points in 32 games this season. He'll continue to be an elite fantasy option in all formats. Anthony Cirelli (twice) and Ryan McDonagh also found the back of the net on Monday night.
Dec 10 - 10:46 PM

Anze Kopitar scored in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

Kopitar got the Kings on the board in the third period, when they were already trailing by three goals. The Kings captain managed to put an end to his seven-game goalless drought. He finished the night with a minus-1 rating, five shots on goal and one hit in 20:46 of ice time. The 31-year-old is up to eight goals and 19 points in 30 games this season. The Kings are a disaster right now, and things probably won't get much better as the season goes on.
Dec 10 - 10:23 PM

Dylan Larkin found the back of the net in Monday's 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Larkin's was able to pounce on a brutal defensive-zone turnover by Kings defenseman Derek Forbort before scoring. That goal gave the Red Wings a 3-0 lead late in the second frame. Larkin is now riding a four-game point streak (he has seven points during that stretch). He's up to 12 goals and 29 points in 31 games this season. Larkin has really stepped up into a leadership role this year. Dennis Cholowski and Frans Nielsen also scored in Monday's victory.
