Samuel Morin will have knee surgery and won't play again this year.

Morin sustained the injury last week during the AHL playoffs while playing for Lehigh Valley. He only played in 15 contests for the Phantoms during the regular season because of what was believed to be a recurring groin issue.

The Flyers have called up Carter Hart in a corresponding move. Stolarz is expected to be out of action for two-to-four weeks.

Carter Hart has been called up by the Philadelphia Flyers.

This marks the first NHL call-up of Hart's career. He has posted a 9-5-2 record with Lehigh Valley of the AHL to go along with a 3.05 goals-against average and .901 save percentage. However, Hart has been better recently with wins in four of his last five starts (4-1-0), while registering a 1.82 GAA, .939 save percentage and one shutout.

Mikko Koskinen allowed three goals on 29 shots in Sunday’s 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

Koskinen was in fact perfect at even-strength tonight, getting beat three times on Vancouver power plays while Bo Horvat put one into an empty-net. The loss breaks a three-game winning streak for Koskinen, dropping his record to 11-4-1 with a 2.18 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage.

Jacob Markstrom allowed two goals on 22 shots in Sunday’s 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

It was a fairly quiet night for Markstrom who didn’t have much of a chance on either of Edmonton’s goals after both Jujhar Khaira and Connor McDavid provided beautiful assists. The 28-year-old Markstrom has now won five straight games, improving his record to 13-9-3 with a 3.01 goals-against-average and a .904 save percentage. It could be a sneaky good time to pick up the Swedish goaltender.
Dec 17 - 12:36 AM

Corey Crawford suffered a concussion in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks.

This is not good news for Crawford or the Blackhawks as Crawford suffered a concussion on December 23 last year. It forced him to miss the rest of the season and the start of the 2018-19 campaign as he sat out the last 47 games in 2017-18 and the first five contests this season. He is out indefinitely.

Philadelphia reportedly hasn't made a decision regarding head coach Dave Hakstol yet.

Multiple sources told the Courier Post that Hakstol would be fired Sunday night or Monday morning, but TSN's Darren Dreger is reporting that everything appears to be status quo for the Flyers for now. There was also a report that Joel Quenneville said he never accepted a job to be the next coach of the Flyers even though sources for the Courier Post indicated otherwise. We will keep you posted on this dysfunctional situation as more information becomes available.
