Nikolaj Ehlers (undisclosed) won't play in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Ehlers missed the morning skate, but nothing was made of that at the time. There aren't many details available, but he's dealing with an injury. It appears as though Jack Roslovic will take his spot in the lineup. Ehlers has no goals and seven assists in 13 games this postseason.

With two assists in a 4-1 win against the LA Kings on Monday night, Auston Matthews recorded his seventh consecutive multi-point game to begin the season and in doing so, he becomes just the fifth player in NHL history to accomplish the feat.

The other four players to register at least seven consecutive multi-point games to start a season are Mario Lemieux, Kevin Stevens, Wayne Gretzky and Mike Bossy. Matthews is currently tied with both Gretzky and Bossy for consecutive multi-point games and with another on Thursday against Pittsburgh, he will tie Stevens for eight straight. With the two assists, the former first overall pick now has collected 10 goals and 16 points to open the season making him a must-start in all fantasy formats.

Zach Parise picked up a couple of assists during Monday’s 4-2 loss to the Nashville Predators.

Parise was Minnesota’s lone bright spot, creating several chances and being rewarded with a couple of helpers tonight. His assist streak has now been extended to three games and he currently leads the team with one goal and seven points through the opening six games. He has rebounded nicely after spending half of last season on the shelf with a back injury. His assists came on goals scored by Matt Dumba and Mikko Koivu.
Oct 15 - 10:49 PM

John Klingberg scored a goal during Monday’s 4-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Klingberg found space between every single Ottawa penalty killer before snapping home his fourth goal of the season. In fact, the Swedish blueliner has already picked up half of his goal total from last season, in 77 less games. His goal tonight extended his season opening point streak to five games, matching the Dallas Stars franchise record amongst defensemen (Darryl Sydor). The 26-year-old will end this contest with six points in five games so far this season. The assists on the goal went to Jason Spezza and Alex Radulov.
Oct 15 - 10:17 PM

Kasperi Kapanen picked up a couple of goals during Monday’s 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Kapanen opened the scoring just 46 seconds into the game when he took the puck from behind the red line and banked it in off of Jack Campbell. Kapanen then got his second of the night when Derek Forbort’s turnover led directly to a two-on-one with Auston Matthews that Kapanen converted. The 22-year-old Swedish winger has started off the season with four goals and eight points through the opening seven games of the season. Patrick Marleau and Mitch Marner also scored in the win.
Oct 15 - 10:13 PM

Mike Matheson has been suspended two games for interference/unsportsmanlike conduct on Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson.

Matheson won't be eligible to play on Tuesday at Philadelphia and Friday in Washington. The Florida defender slammed Pettersson to the ice behind the net this past Saturday. The Canucks rookie suffered a concussion on the play.
Oct 15 - 6:49 PM

Frederik Andersen is dealing with a knee injury.

Andersen is regarded as day-to-day. Garret Sparks was expected to start on Monday regardless, so in the short-term, Andersen's injury doesn't change anything, but obviously this will be a big blow to Toronto if he's out for any extended period of time. Eamon McAdam will join the Maple Leafs on an emergency basis and serve as the Leafs' backup goalie on Monday.
Oct 15 - 5:17 PM

Paul Stastny (lower body) is expected to be out for up to two months.

This is a big blow to Vegas, which was already off to a rough 2-4-0 start. Vegas added Stastny on a three-year, $19.5 million contract over the summer. He had 16 goals and 53 points in 82 contests last season.
Oct 15 - 4:37 PM

Sean Monahan (lower body) missed Monday's practice.

Monahan was hurt when he blocked a shot on Saturday. He's day-to-day and questionable for Wednesday's contest. He has four goals and six points in five games this season.
Oct 15 - 3:10 PM

Elias Pettersson is going through the concussion protocol.

That's unfortunately not surprising. Pettersson was forced to leave Saturday's game after being slammed into the ice by Mike Matheson. Pettersson will miss at least 7-10 days, but when it comes to concussion you shouldn't rely on any timetable to necessarily be accurate.
Oct 15 - 2:23 PM

Alex Stalock will start against the Nashville Predators on Monday.

The Wild haven't used their backup goaltender yet and this is the start of a back-to-back set, so that's why Stalock is drawing in now. He had a 2.85 GAA and .910 save percentage in 28 contests this season.
Oct 15 - 1:10 PM

Dennis Cholowski (upper body) is ready for Monday's game.

Cholowski was sidelined for two contests. The 20-year-old rookie has a goal and three points in three games.
