Getting Taylor Hall signed to an extension will be a top priority for the Devils next summer.

"High. The highest. He's committed, he's authentic, he is an amazing player obviously," said New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris. "He's a guy you build around. Whether it's him, Nico (Hischier), Will (Butcher). Taylor is definitely going to be front and center, so it will definitely be a high priority. I hope I'm working with Taylor for a long time." Hall isn't eligible to sign a contract extension until July 1, 2019. He currently earns $6 million per season and is coming off a career year. Hall amassed 39 goals and 93 points in 76 matches to help get the Devils into the postseason.

Brayden Point scored a goal and assisted on another in Thursday’s 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Point is having an incredible contract year, becoming the youngest player (22 years, 310 days old) to reach 30 goals in a season in 48 or fewer games since teammate Steven Stamkos in 2011-12. It will be interesting to see what type of moves the Lightning will need to make with them currently projected to have just $6.376 million in cap space in 2019-20 (CapFriendly). Point is up to 62 points in 48 games, becoming the first player to reach at least 30 goals and 30 assists this season. His assist came on Victor Hedman’s third period goal.

Henrik Lundqvist allowed three goals on 27 shots in Thursday’s 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Lundqvist didn’t have a chance on Brandon Saad’s opening goal of the game after the puck took a wicked deflection off a Brent Seabrook blast. King Henrik was then beat by another power play goal, this time curtesy of a great shot by Alex DeBrincat before Dominik Kahun beat him with two seconds left in regulation. The Swedish netminder was able to hold onto the lead, improving his record to 14-12-7 with a 3.04 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. The win gives him 445 for his career, tying him with Terry Sawchuk for sixth place on the all-time wins list.

David Krejci picked up a three helpers in Thursday’s 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Krejci found Krug from the corner to open the scoring 3:31 into the game before following that up with the secondary assist on David Backes’ power play marker towards the end of the second period and Sean Kuraly's empty-netter. The 32-year-old Krejci extends his point streak to five games, bringing him to 10 goals and 40 points in 48 games this season.

Robin Lehner allowed one goal on 17 shots in Thursday’s 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils.

It was a very quiet night for Lehner, looking like he would get a shutout until Andy Greene beat him through traffic midway through the final frame. The 27-year-old Swedish netminder has been incredibly hot, winning 10 of his last 11 games, improving his record to 14-7-3 with a 2.11 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage.

Jack Campbell will be the Kings' starter on Thursday.

It's a special game for Campbell as its his first start in Dallas since the Stars took him with the 11th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. As you might imagine given his high selection, there was a time when Campbell was regarded as a big part of Dallas' future, but that never happened. Campbell instead took a long time to establish himself, but he's finally done just that in Los Angeles. He has a 2.21 GAA and .930 save percentage in 15 contests this season.

Craig Anderson (concussion) has been taken off the injured reserve list.

Ottawa also sent Marcus Hogberg to the AHL in a corresponding move. It looks like Anderson will probably serve as the backup goaltender on Friday. If all goes well, he can then start on Saturday.

The Minnesota Wild have acquired Victor Rask from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Nino Niederreiter.

Rask is in the third season of his six-year, $24 million contract. With no salary retained, the Wild are shedding $1.25 million in annual salary by exchanging Niederreiter for Rask. That said, the Wild are getting the higher risk player here. Rask has just a goal and six points in 26 contests this season. He did have 48 points in 2015-16 and 45 points in 2016-17 though, so perhaps he can bounce back with this fresh start.

The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired Nino Niederreiter from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Victor Rask.

Niederreiter is in just the second season of his five-year, $26.25 million contract, so the Hurricanes are making a long-term commitment here. That's not necessarily an issue though as Niederreiter has traditionally been a solid offensive contributor. The 26-year-old has reached the 20-goal milestone on three occasions and he set career-highs in 2016-17 with 25 goals and 57 points in 82 contests. He has nine goals and 23 points in 2018-19, but perhaps the change of scenery will give him a boost. One thing to note is that Niederreiter has never averaged more than 15:33 minutes in a single season and is averaging 14:37 minutes this season, so it'll be interesting to see if he plays a bigger role in Carolina.

Brandon Dubinsky (hamstring) will probably return on Friday, per coach John Tortorella.

Dubinsky has missed the Blue Jackets' last four games. He had apparently been dealing with the injury prior to being sidelined, but after re-aggravating it, it was decided that he would be better off taking time off to let it heal properly. "Now, it feels pretty good," Dubinsky reported.
Jan 17 - 1:46 PM

Alex Stalock is expected to start Thursday night.

Stalock is getting his second consecutive start after guiding Minnesota to a 3-2 shootout win over Los Angeles on Tuesday. Stalock is 6-4-0 with a 2.67 GAA and .901 save percentage in 13 games this season.
Jan 17 - 12:56 PM

Taylor Hall (lower body) will miss Thursday and Saturday's games.

After that, the Devils will be off for the All-Star break and a bye week, so Hall will get plenty of rest. He has 11 goals and 37 points in 33 contests this season.
