Matt Murray was on the ice for practice on Thursday morning.

Murray sustained a concussion in practice on Monday, so it's good to see him back out there so soon. He won't be starting on Thursday night, but this news indicates that he'll likely be able to return sooner than later.

Marc-Andre Fleury allowed one goal on 27 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 victory against the visiting Buffalo Sabres, picking up his 407th NHL victory to move to 10th-place on the all-time wins list.

Fleury is now tied with Glenn Hall with the 407 wins. It will take a while before he catches Tony Esposito (423) for ninth, but that's certainly do-able this season. He also has the chance to leapfrog Jacques Plante (434), who currently resides in seventh. Fleury, Henrik Lundqvist (433) and Roberto Luongo (471) are three goaltenders active among the all-time Top 10.
Oct 17 - 3:20 AM

Connor McDavid picked up two goals and another two assists during Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets.

McDavid took a feed from Leon Draisaitl and seemingly skated by every Jets skater before burying a partial break in behind Connor Hellebuyck for his first of the night. McDavid then followed that up with the primary assist on Ty Rattie's goal 18 seconds into the third period before another goal of his own a couple of minutes later. Edmonton's captain then capped off his night with the secondary assist on Jesse Puljujarvi's first of the season. McDavid's four points on Edmonton's first four goals of the game have now made him the first player in NHL history to record a point on his team's first nine goals of a season. The 21-year-old phenom is up to four goals and nine points in four games this season.
Oct 16 - 11:20 PM

Tyler Johnson scored three goals during Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Johnson started off his night with a shorthanded goal off a beautiful feed from Mathieu Joseph. He followed that up with another after Adam Erne split two Hurricanes with a nice feed before capping off his hat trick with an empty net goal. Johnson has started the year with three goals and five points in three games this season. Yanni Gourde also scored in the win.
Oct 16 - 10:46 PM

Sasha Barkov scored two goals during Tuesday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

On the power play, Mike Hoffman sent over a feed to Barkov that he promptly buried for his first of the night. Barkov then followed that up with a breakaway goal to tie the game and force overtime midway through the final period. The Finnish center will start the year with three goals and four points in four games this season. Frank Vatrano (x2) and Evgeny Dadonov also scored in the loss. Barkov added a goal in the shootout.
Oct 16 - 10:23 PM

Keith Kinkaid stopped all 24 shots he faced during Tuesday’s 3-0 win over the Dallas Stars.

Kinkaid’s best save of the game came on a three-on-one chance where he used the glove to deny a Dallas skater to keep his team ahead. The 29-year-old goaltender has gotten all the starts with Cory Schneider out due to a hip injury, winning all four, posting a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .961 save percentage. It doesn’t look like he’ll be giving up the crease any time soon.
Oct 16 - 9:54 PM

Mikko Koivu won't play Tuesday night because his wife, Helena, is in labor with their third child.

Koivu had one goal and one assist in Monday's game against Nashville to give him four points in five contests this season. Consider him day-to-day.
Oct 16 - 7:34 PM

Pavel Buchnevich will be a healthy scratch Tuesday versus Colorado.

Coach David Quinn wants to see more consistency from Buchnevich and he wants him to be harder to play against. The Rangers bench boss wouldn't commit to Buchnevich playing on Wednesday. He has two goals and one assist in five games this year.
Oct 16 - 5:35 PM

Evgeny Svechnikov underwent successful surgery on his right knee Tuesday.

Svechnikov is expected to miss five-to-six months after he required anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. He was injured late in the preseason and started the year on Detroit's non-roster injured list.
Oct 16 - 5:21 PM

Nick Bjugstad (upper body) will play Tuesday night.

Bjugstad had been dealing with an upper-body injury, but it won't prevent him from playing against Philadelphia. He has one goal in three outings this campaign.
Oct 16 - 5:15 PM

Michael Hutchinson will get the nod Tuesday night against Philadelphia.

Hutchinson will make his Florida debut after James Reimer lost in his last two starts. Hutchinson, who was called up from the minors following Roberto Luongo's injury, only appeared in three games with Winnipeg last season.
Oct 16 - 5:12 PM

Zach Bogosian will make his season debut on Tuesday.

Bogosian has been sidelined with a groin injury since Sept. 25 and this will be his first regular-season appearance since January after he underwent hip surgery. "It's exciting," Bogosian said. "It's not the start how I wanted things to go after coming off surgery but I'm looking forward to getting back." He was paired with Nathan Beaulieu during the morning skate.
