Mats Zuccarello appears to be ready to return to the Rangers lineup Friday.

Zuccarello has missed 13 of the last 15 games with the injury and has three goals and 10 points in 17 games. The diminutive winger is slated to become a UFA on July 1 and it appears that he will be dealt by the deadline as the Rangers could use some assets. "You know what, I think everyone knows my opinion about everything. I love it here," Zuccarello said to the New York Post. "This is my ninth season. This is where I grew up to become — hopefully — an adult. Maybe half [an adult]. But this is home for me, my second home." Stay tuned.

Taylor Hall was injured at practice on Thursday.

It is unknown what happened to the star forward but he came over to the bench early in practice and left the ice. He tried returning twice only to leave again and again. The Devils take on Vegas Friday at home and Hall's status is up in the air at this time. He has eight goals and 31 points in 28 games thus far so he should definitely be in your lineup if healthy. Stay tuned.

Martin Jones made 20 saves on 22 shots in a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night.

Jones has now won four out of his last five starts for San Jose and hasn't allowed more than three goals in that span of time. The netminder's record improves to 13-7-3 with a 2.83 GAA and a .901 save percentage.

Mark Scheifele scored a goal and assisted on two others in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Scheifele started off his night with an assist on Nikolaj Ehlers' first period tally before scoring the game-tying goal and getting an assist on Josh Morrissey's winner in the extra frame. The 25-year-old Scheifele now has eight points in his last three games, bringing him to 18 goals and 40 points in 31 games this season.

Jeff Petry scored two goals in Thursday’s 6-4 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Canadiens found themselves down a goal when they scored three minutes apart from Matthew Peca and Jeff Petry in the second period. Petry then capped off his night with an empty net goal from his own end. It’s five goals in his last six games for blueliner, bringing him to seven goals and 24 points in 32 games this season. The veteran defenseman has been able to consistently produce offense even with the return of Shea Weber.
Dec 13 - 10:37 PM

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed one goal on 49 shots in Thursday’s 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Vasilevskiy did not disappoint in his much-anticipated return to the lineup. The Lightning found themselves down 1-0 early but the Russian goaltender simply dominated from that point forward. His record improves to 10-3-1 with a 2.20 goals-against-average and a .933 save percentage. It would have been hard to script a better return.
Dec 13 - 10:31 PM

Artemi Panarin scored two goals in Thursday’s 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

The Blue Jackets found themselves down a goal early but responded well, scoring two goals to close out the opening period with a lead. Lukas Sedlak tied the game for Columbus but it was Artemi Panarin who buried a feed from Pierre-Luc Dubois to take the lead. The Blue Jackets then closed out the second frame with goals by Panarin and Josh Anderson 20 seconds apart. Panarin now has points in back-to-back games, with 19 in his last 16 games. The Russian winger sits at nine goals and 34 points in 30 games this season.
Dec 13 - 9:49 PM

Jeff Skinner scored a goal in Thursday’s 3-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

The deadly duo of Jack Eichel and Skinner combined once again, with Eichel feeding Skinner on a two-on-one for the goal. Skinner now has 29 points in his last 25 games, bringing the 26-year-old winger to 22 goals and 32 points in as many games this season. It’s been an incredible first season in Buffalo and he is working himself to a heavy payday.

Kris Russell is dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Russell was placed on the injured reserve list, presumably retroactive to his last game on Dec. 11. That would make him ineligible for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday's games. He has a goal and eight points in 31 contests this season. This is a significant blow to Edmonton given that Russell averages 19:49 minutes per game and the Oilers also recently lost defenseman Oscar Klefbom
