Andrei Vasilevskiy (foot) is a few weeks away from being able to play.

Vasilevskiy was projected to miss four-to-six weeks back on Nov. 16, so it sounds like we'll be closer to that six week estimate. He has a 2.29 GAA and .927 save percentage in 13 games.
Dec 6 - 11:43 AM

Tom Wilson (concussion) is set to return to the Capitals' lineup on Friday.

Wilson missed three straight games due to the head injury. He is projected to play alongside Evgeny Kuznetsov and Jakub Vrana. He has eight goals and 14 points in 11 contests this season.
Dec 14 - 5:26 PM

Pittsburgh will start Casey DeSmith Friday night.

DeSmith will try to bounce back after allowing four goals on 27 shots in a 6-3 loss to Chicago Wednesday night. He fell to 9-5-4 with a 2.43 GAA and .921 save percentage in 21 games.
Dec 14 - 3:40 PM

Cory Schneider will be the Devils' starter on Friday.

As previously reported, Keith Kinkaid will get the nod on Saturday. Schneider is still searching for his first win of the season. He's 0-5-1 with a 4.29 GAA and .862 save percentage in eight games.
Dec 14 - 3:37 PM

Paul Stastny will be back in the lineup on Friday night.

Stastny is slated to play between Alex Tuch and Oscar Lindberg. He has missed the last 30 games due to a lower-body injury. Stastny has appeared in just three games this season and he is still looking for his first point as a member of the Golden Knights.
Dec 14 - 2:35 PM

The Max Pacioretty situation got a little more confusing.

Pacioretty served as an extra skater during Friday's practice, setting the stage for him to potentially be a healthy scratch tonight. When Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said, "There's nothing wrong with Max (Pacioretty). We've got to scratch somebody tonight and we'll decide tonight." That seems to state in clear terms that Pacioretty is healthy and if he is scratched, it would be the coach's decision. However, a team spokesperson has since stated that Pacioretty has a minor injury and, "(It) is management's decision to hold him out tonight." In other words, it sounds like the team and the coach's stories are incompatible and it's not clear if Pacioretty is out Friday because of an injury or if he's missing the game due his play and the team is just trying to allow their player to save face. Either way, the end result seems to be that he isn't playing tonight.
Dec 14 - 1:34 PM

Taylor Hall (lower body) will be a game-time decision on Friday.

Hall sustained the injury during Thursday's contest. He has eight goals and 31 points in 29 contests this season.
Dec 14 - 1:01 PM

Jaroslav Halak will start for Boston on Friday.

Halak has surrendered at least three goals in each of his last three starts. He's 9-4-2 with a 2.30 GAA and .930 save percentage in 17 contests this season.
Dec 14 - 12:53 PM

Brandon Manning will be a healthy scratch on Friday.

Manning is making room for Erik Gustafsson, who is ready to return from an illness. Manning has a goal and three points in 27 contests in 2018-19.
Dec 14 - 12:46 PM

Mike Green will miss the next three-to-five weeks with a lower-body injury.

It initially sounded like Green's injury was minor, but unfortunately that's not the case. He's been doing well this season with three goals and 16 points in 23 games. Green wasn't able to make his season debut until Oct. 26 due to a viral infection. Unfortunately, time on the sidelines has been a common theme over his career and he hasn't played in 75 or more games in a single season since 2009-10.
Dec 14 - 11:29 AM

Bobby Ryan (concussion) is set to return to the Senators' lineup on Friday.

Ryan has passed his baseline test and took part in Thursday's practice. He's progressed quickly, having only missed three games. "I was relatively symptom-free right out of the game, but once you’re in the (concussion) protocol you’ve got to go through the protocol and I really haven’t had any bad days since Saturday. I passed the baseline (Wednesday) and it’s back to work," Ryan said. He has six goals and 18 points in 29 contests this season.

Mats Zuccarello appears to be ready to return to the Rangers lineup Friday.

Zuccarello has missed 13 of the last 15 games with the injury and has three goals and 10 points in 17 games. The diminutive winger is slated to become a UFA on July 1 and it appears that he will be dealt by the deadline as the Rangers could use some assets. "You know what, I think everyone knows my opinion about everything. I love it here," Zuccarello said to the New York Post. "This is my ninth season. This is where I grew up to become — hopefully — an adult. Maybe half [an adult]. But this is home for me, my second home." Stay tuned.
