George Sherrill - BAL

According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Orioles are debating whether to dangle George Sherrill on the trading block.
The Marlins have expressed serious interest and a few other clubs are also thought to be intrigued. The Orioles, 35-42, are currently in last place in the American League East and could use a couple of prospects to fill gaps in the organization, but they also don't have a direct replacement for Sherill and would rather not give him up. As Rosenthal writes, "Rest assured, they will not sell low."

 Brad Bergesen - BAL

Brad Bergesen limited the Red Sox to one run in eight innings on Wednesday, but he denied a win after the Orioles blew a four-run lead in the ninth.
Bergesen was very efficient against a patient lineup, walking none and throwing just 102 pitches. Unfortunately, the series' second dramatic comeback in two days resulted in a no-decision for Bergesen. We're still sketical of how he'll perform his second time around the league, but he's right in the thick of the AL Rookie of the Year race right now. Jul. 1 - 5:12 pm et

 Koji Uehara - BAL

Koji Uehara's arthrogram Tuesday revealed a partially torn flexor tendon. He's expected to miss up to eight weeks.
Orioles manager Dave Trembley shared the bad news Wednesday night. "Koji is going to be out for awhile,'' he said. "He has a partial tear in his elbow and will rest for three to five weeks. Surgery is not required. ... It could be seven or eight weeks before he's in a game again. He's going to get a second opinion, which everyone does now, but Dr. Wilckens and Dr. Cosgeria are confident that's what it is." The Japanese import had a 4.05 ERA and 48/12 K/BB ratio through 66 2/3 innings this season.

 Adam Jones - BAL

Adam Jones is out of Wednesday's lineup after suffering neck and shoulder injuries upon running into the outfield wall Tuesday night.
Jones told MASN's Roch Kubatko that he could probably play, but Orioles manager Dave Trembley is wisely exercising caution. The outfielder, batting an impressive .305/.359/.509 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI, is expected to return to the O's starting lineup on Thursday.

 Nick Markakis - BAL

Nick Markakis hit a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to complete the biggest comeback in team history, as the Orioles topped the Red Sox 11-10.
Just incredible. The Orioles trailed 10-1 as they entered the bottom of the seventh, but chipped away with five runs off Justin Masterson. They added five more in the eighth against the combined efforts of Hideki Okajima, Takashi Saito and Jonathan Papelbon to stun the Red Sox. The comeback, capped by the two-run doubled by Markakis, was their biggest since September 2, 1956 when they fought from eight runs down to defeat Boston. Jul. 1 - 12:59 am et

 Rich Hill - BAL

Rich Hill was picked apart for nine runs -- seven earned -- over 3 1/3 innings on Tuesday, but suffered a no-decision in a thrilling 11-10 win on Tuesday night.
He's incredibly lucky to get away from this without a loss. Hill gave up a season-high nine hits, including two homers, while walking three and striking out three. His ERA has shot up from 4.15 to 7.08 over his last five starts. With a bunch of youngsters on the rise, he could be in the bullpen before long. Jul. 1 - 12:48 am et

 Adam Jones - BAL

Adam Jones came out of Tuesday's game with an apparent shoulder/neck injury.
Jones undoubtedly had some lingering soreness after crashing into the wall while attempting to rob Kevin Youkilis of a homer in the first. He's considered day-to-day.

 Koji Uehara - BAL

Koji Uehara had an arthrogram on his injured right elbow Tuesday afternoon in an effort to gather a better diagnosis.
Colored dye was injected into the affected area, which should allow doctors to get a better read of the bones, tissue and ligaments. Uehara's swelling has gone down, but he's still experiencing discomfort. The dye should reveal any minor fractures or tears that weren't picked up by his X-rays.

 Cesar Izturis - BAL

Orioles manager Dave Trembley acknowledged Monday that Cesar Izturis (appendicitis) might not return to the club until late July, at the earliest.
Izturis jogged and sprinted in the outfield Monday and took 30 swings off a tee. "Big progress," he said afterward. "I'm feeling stronger, and today was a big day." He's hoping to hit live pitching as early as Wednesday with an eye on beginning a rehab assignment right around the All-Star break.

 Cesar Izturis - BAL

Cesar Izturis (appendicitis) has not been cleared for baseball-related activities and will likely remain on the disabled list through the All-Star break.
Izturis ran sprints in the outfield on Monday. He will go on the Orioles next road trip beginning on Thursday in Anaheim. He is expected to take batting practice and field grounders at that time. Izturis could go on a rehab assignment during the All-Star break. "It could be sooner than that, but I think that's kind of stretching it," manager Dave Trembley said.
