Eddy Curry - C - NY

Eddy Curry has gotten himself into decent shape and is ready to return to practice for the Knicks in the near future.
"There’s a chance," Donnie Walsh said. "He’s very close...When you see him, he looks totally different," he said. "I was encouraged yesterday by what I saw." This is simply an FYI, and should not be misconstrued as a signal that fantasy owners should go pick up Curry. We'll be shocked if he offers much, if any, value this year. That said, the Knicks could use the extra body to eat up some minutes at center. Nov. 7 - 1:07 pm et

Quinton Ross - G/F - DAL

Quinton Ross, who missed Wednesday's game with a sore back, is expected to play on Saturday.
He had been in the starting lineup, but should be headed back to a reserve role now that Josh Howard is set to return from injury. Nov. 7 - 12:59 pm et

Josh Howard - G/F - DAL

Josh Howard, who missed the Mavs' first five games while recovering from off-season left ankle surgery, is expected to play against the Raptors on Saturday.
He went through full practices for the first time this week and is ready to go, although our guess is he'll come off the bench for the first few games. He's always a health risk, but puts up solid numbers when he's able to play. Nov. 7 - 12:57 pm et

Steve Blake - G - POR

Blazers' coach Nate McMillan said after Friday's game that Steve Blake and Andre Miller might stay in the starting lineup together for the next two weeks.
Blake primarily played shooting guard on Friday, while Miller ran the point. Both players should see an increase in value with this move, while it potentially hurts Martell Webster, Rudy Fernandez and Travis Outlaw. Balke had 15 points, six rebounds and two 3-pointers on Friday, so give him a look. Nov. 7 - 11:32 am et

Al Thornton - F - LAC

Al Thornton played through a case of the flu Friday, but scored just four points before fouling out in 18 minutes.
He's not thrilled with his demotion to the bench and currently has lost the little fantasy value he once held. "If you ask me now, the coach is doing what's best for the team," he said. "Of course, I want to start. I'd love to start. Like I said, he's doing what's best for the team." Rasual Butler hasn't exactly torn it up, but could be on the verge of doing so. Nov. 7 - 11:23 am et

Kenyon Martin - F - DEN

Kenyon Martin has been ruled out for Saturday's game at Atlanta with a lower left leg contusion.
George Karl predicts that Martin will miss a week or two, although we won't know for sure until results of an MRI surface. His replacement hasn't been named, but our guess is either Renaldo Balkman or Chris Andersen will take his place in the starting five. Regardless of who starts, both players will see an increased role over the next couple weeks. Nov. 7 - 11:17 am et

Anthony Randolph - F - GS

A Warriors team source said recently that the front office is confident in Don Nelson's judgment, and appreciate the controversial stance he has taken with Anthony Randolph over the last two seasons.
In addition, two players said Randolph's attitude is what has gotten him into trouble with Nellie. "He's got a lot to learn," a source said. No one is in disagreement about Randolph being picked on, but it's also clear that he and Nelson do not see things eye to eye. Randolph double-doubled in Friday's embarassing loss to the Clippers, but is now the team's fourth-string center (on paper). Nov. 7 - 11:09 am et

Tyreke Evans - G - SAC

Tyreke Evans is the Kings' point guard of the future, but his inability to make passes when his teammates are open has quickly become a concern.
"In Memphis, Tyreke controlled the ball all the time," Kings' executive Bobby Jackson said. "He dribble-drives with his head down." Now that Kevin Martin will miss two months, the Kings will get to see what Evans can do at shooting guard, as Beno Udrih takes over the point guard duties. This could be a good move for Evans, who should be owned in most leagues by now. Nov. 7 - 11:00 am et

Anderson Varejao - F/C - CLE

Anderson Varejao had eight points, a season-high 14 rebounds and two blocks in 34 minutes despite coming off the bench in Friday's win over the Knicks.
J.J. Hickson got the start, but Varejao's owners shouldn't be too worried about the demotion, as Hickson lasted just 12 minutes last night. Varejao is averaging 32.5 minutes per game this season, so his value shouldn't change at all as long as his playing time stays the same. Nov. 7 - 10:55 am et

Antawn Jamison - F - WAS

Antawn Jamison unleashed a slew of profanities in a post-game locker room tirade that could be heard out in the hallway after Friday's lethargic loss to the Pacers.
"Ain't nothing funny about this!," he said upon exiting the arena. Flip Saunders seemed to be in agreement over the lack of effort. "I thought our effort was poor. I was extremely disappointed," Saunders said. Gilbert Arenas took just 10 shots and scored 13 points. It's good to see Jamison taking a leadership role, but you have to hope the team is still all on the same page upon his return in a couple weeks or so. Nov. 7 - 10:47 am et

Ron Artest - F - LAK

Ron Artest is not thrilled with Charles Barkley, who said recently that Artest needs to focus more on basketball and less on his budding rap career.
"TNT was trying to make me look good, but Charles was trying to make me look bad," Artest said after Friday's game. He also referenced Barkley's DUI arrest from last year on Twitter, writing "What's worse; rapping or driving drunk?" Artest called Barkley overrated during last year's playoffs, as this feud has been ongoing. Nov. 7 - 10:35 am et

Vince Carter - G/F - ORL

Vince Carter, who has now missed three of his last four games with a sprained left ankle, is hoping to play on Sunday against the Thunder.
They will likely need him with Ryan Anderson very iffy after what looked like a severe ankle sprain Friday. Carter's owners have to be concerned about his production. Despite shooting 47% on the season and hitting eight 3-pointers, he's scored no more than 16 points in any of the three games he's played in. And that's without Rashard Lewis in the lineup. Consider VC a game-time decision for now, but the thought is that he'll play. Nov. 7 - 10:26 am et

Anthony Johnson - G - ORL

Anthony Johnson missed Friday's game for personal reasons.
He's expected to be back in time for Sunday's meeting with Oklahoma City, not that it matters. Nov. 7 - 10:16 am et

Ryan Anderson - F - ORL

Magic power forward Ryan Anderson was on crutches when he left the arena on Friday night and will have an MRI on his sprained right ankle on Saturday.
"I'm getting an MRI in the morning," Anderson said. Anderson sprained his right ankle in the third quarter of the Magic's 110-103 win over the Detroit Pistons and he should probably be considered doubtful for Sunday at Oklahoma City. Brandon Bass would likely start in his place if Anderson is out. Nov. 7 - 4:24 am et

Courtney Lee - G/F - NJ

Courtney Lee says his left groin strain isn't bad, but he may have to miss a game or two in order to rest the injury.
"It’s not bad at all," he said. "Rest as much as possible. Go from day-to-day. It wasn’t a tear. They said it was a micro-tear below my groin. So it’s day-to-day. It’s minor through." He'll test the injury before Saturday's game and make a decision then. If he and Chris Douglas-Roberts (flu) can't play, the Nets starting lineup will likely be: Trenton Hassell, Eduardo Najera, Brook Lopez, Terrence Williams and Rafer Alston. Nov. 7 - 4:16 am et
