Greg Monroe - C - DET
Greg Monroe has received full clearance to resume activity after having minor toe surgery in late July. "I’ve been lifting and doing core this whole time," Monroe said, "but I haven’t been able to run. I’m able to, first off, just walk around with shoes all day [now]. I’m definitely anxious to get to the season...just focusing on getting back in prime shape and make sure I’m ready for training camp." Sounds like Monroe was in a lot of pain this summer, but Detroit expects their lottery pick to be ready for the season-opener.

Rodney Stuckey - G - DET
Rodney Stuckey has spent this summer focusing on improving his conditioning and his jump shot. Nothing wrong with improved conditioning, but the big question with Stuckey from a fantasy standpoint is whether or not working on his jump shot included expanding his range. Stuckey's fantasy value has been held in check by the fact that he has only averaged 0.3 threes per game each of the past to seasons. Until we see otherwise, we're not holding out hope for a dramatic improvement in that department. Sep. 1 - 4:04 pm et. Source: NBA.com

Charlie Villanueva - F - DET
Charlie Villanueva appears to be in much better shape this summer and is prepping for a bounce-back season for the Pistons. He was awful last season, and often injured, but it sounds like the back problems that limited him last year are behind him. "I’ve improved my body in general," he said. "My body feels good. I feel like I can get off the floor easier...I don’t get tired as easy. My body, my shot – anything I do, I just feel like it’s been better." Villanueva could be a late-round steal in fantasy this season, but let's see how camp goes before declaring him a safe pick. Aug. 30 - 3:15 pm et. Source: NBA.com

Tracy McGrady - G/F - DET
The Pistons are hoping that Tracy McGrady is "85-90% by the start of [training] camp with a goal of being ready to rock by the Oct. 27 opener," according to beat writer Vince Ellis. Detroit may even let their veteran swingman rest during the second practice of two-a-days, a wise strategy considering the state of T-Mac's knees. There has been tons of speculation about how much he has left in the tank, but we'll just have to wait and see. Aug. 29 - 10:22 am et. Source: Detroit Free Press

Ben Gordon - G - DET
While visiting England on Thursday, Ben Gordon has vowed to play for the Great Britain national team next summer.
Gordon was born in London and went on to say "Just to participate in an Olympics is special enough, but to play it here in 2012, in the country I was born," he said. "It would be amazing to play against the U.S. And to beat them." Gordon also said that his ankle is "about 85% right now" and plans to be ready to go for the NBA season.

Greg Monroe - C - DET
Greg Monroe still hasn't resumed basketball activities as he is recovering from a minor procedure on his right foot after Summer League play.
Monroe can carve out a nice role in the Pistons' front court if he can get healthy in time for the start of the season. Even though he is still recovering, Monroe thinks the surgery will be a big plus for him in the long run. "It's just a lot more comfortable," said Monroe, "It was something that gave me a little pain. I'm not hesitating on some movements I've had before. It's going to help me a lot."

Tracy McGrady - G/F - DET
Tracy McGrady thinks that the Pistons will surprise a lot of people this year and is excited for a fresh start in Detroit. McGrady says that his game will be much improved this year because "I’m in better shape than I’ve been in for the last three years. I’m a lot leaner. I’m telling you, a lot of people are going to be shocked. That’s all I’ve got to say." Until he proves it on the court, it is recommended that you stay far away from T-Mac on your fantasy teams this year. Aug. 25 - 5:01 pm et. Source: NBA.com

Richard Hamilton - G/F - DET
Michigan native Tom Gores, a businessman worth approximately $2.2 billion, has emerged as the "front-runner" to become the Pistons' new owner. There are four groups interested in bidding on the franchise, which is being sold for somewhere between $400-$500 million. No deal is imminent and this process could drag on for quite a while yet. | Tracy McGrady - G/F - DET |
Tracy McGrady was introduced by the Pistons on Monday -- he said that he wouldn't mind a bench role and is simply focused on playing as well as he can. McGrady added that his knee feels "a lot better" than at any point last season, and he is eager to work with Pistons strength-and-conditioning coach Arnie Kander. "I don’t show a lot of emotion, but I have a chip on my shoulder," said T-Mac. "I’m not changing anything. I’m only 31 years old ... There is still a lot left in this tank." Aug. 16 - 8:24 pm et. A bank hired by Pistons owner Karen Davidson to broker the sale of the team is seeking $500 million for the franchise, but most observers feel that is $100 million more than it's worth. The Pistons were valued by Forbes.com at $479 million, including the Palace of Auburn Hills, but the Detroit-metro area has been hit hard by the recession. At the very least, it doesn't appear that anyone will meet the current asking price. Aug. 16 - 12:38 pm et. Source: CrainsDetroit.com
