Andy Pettitte ended his tremendous Major League career in style on Saturday, allowing just one run on five hits in a complete game victory over the Astros.
Pettitte walked a pair and punched out five on the evening. The only blemish on his evening was an RBI groundout by Chris Carter in the fourth inning. The 41-year-old southpaw finishes his 18th and final MLB season with an 11-11 record, 3.74 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 128/48 K/BB ratio over 185 1/3 innings. For his illustrious career, that could end in the Hall of Fame, Pettitte sports a 256-153 career mark with 3.85 ERA. His 19 career postseason victories rank first in MLB history. One of the finest hurlers of the last two decades, Pettitte will be sorely missed by the Yankees and baseball fans everywhere next season. Sat, Sep 28, 2013 10:35:00 PM
