Freddy Sanchez has officially retired.
Sanchez last played in 2011 with the Giants. He missed the 2012 season due to back and shoulder injuries. While he refused to close the door on his career over the last two years, there hasn't been major league interest. He hangs it up at age 38. A three-time All Star, Sanchez won the NL batting title when he hit .344 with the Pirates in 2006.
