Mets manager Terry Collins said Saturday that Jose Reyes will take over as the team's leadoff man when he arrives from the minors.
Curtis Granderson has been the primary leadoff man over the past two seasons, but he'll be moved to the middle of the order. Reyes is expected to see time at third base in the minors and potentially even the outfield in order to prepare him for a super utility role. The expectation is that he could be with the big club in 7-10 days. Asdrubal Cabrera is expected to remain the primary shortstop, but the Mets are hopeful that Reyes' speed will bring a new dimension to their lineup. By the way, David Wright still leads the Mets with three steals. Jun 25 - 4:42 PM
