2B	1	Danny Espinosa Sidelined Danny Espinosa has been playing with a small fracture in his right wrist for the past month. It's actually a loose bone chip in his hand. The injury stems from when he was hit by a pitch from Paul Maholm on April 14 and certainly explains his struggles. Espinosa hopes to avoid a trip to the disabled list and possible surgery, but the Nationals plan to rest him for a few days. Steve Lombardozzi will fill in at second base for the time being. May 24

RF	1	Jayson Werth D.L. Jayson Werth (hamstring) will not be ready for activation from the disabled list on Friday and could be sidelined for as much as two more weeks. Nationals manager Davey Johnson said he received an "alarming" report on Werth Monday, which obviously doesn't sound good. The outfielder experienced a setback with his hamstring during a rehab game last week and has yet to return to game action. He was slated to see a specialist over the weekend and evidently didn't receive good news. Roger Bernadina and Tyler Moore will continue to be the primary fill-ins for Werth. May 20

	5	Ross Detwiler Sidelined Ross Detwiler (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday and reported feeling fine. Detwiler was pulled from a start last week with lower back spasms and skipped a turn in the Nationals' rotation. That bit of rest did the trick, and he has been cleared to take the mound Tuesday against the Orioles. May 25

	7	Christian Garcia D.L. Christian Garcia (forearm) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend with Double-A Harrisburg. Garcia has been shut down since the early part of spring training with a partial tendon tear in his right forearm, but he's ready to return to game action. The Nationals were planning to stretch him out as a starter prior to the injury, but he'll pitch in relief for the time being. May 23
