Edwin Encarnacion smacked a grand slam Thursday against the Orioles.
It was his 13th home run of the season and his fifth career grand slam. The Blue Jays had a one-run lead at the time, so his sixth-inning blast off Pedro Strop provided a nice little cushion. Encarnacion also drew a walk in the bottom of the eighth inning and eventually came around to score.
May 23 - 10:41 PM
Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-3 with a three-run double and a run scored in Monday's win over the Rays.
The bases-loaded double off Josh Lueke put the Blue Jays ahead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Encarnacion has four multi-hit games in his last six and has pulled his batting up from .218 to .255 on the year.
May 20 - 4:36 PM
Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-4 with a double in Friday's loss to the Yankees.
Encarnacion now has three multi-hit games in his last four and has pulled his batting average up from .218 to .247 along the way. Fortunately, he has been a consistent source of power even during his struggles. He's currently tied for the AL lead with 11 home runs.
May 17 - 9:51 PM
Edwin Encarnacion hit his 10th home run of the season in the Blue Jays' loss to the Rays on Wednesday.
It was Encarnacion's only hit of the night, but he drove in three runs with the two-run homer and a sacrifice fly. He's now got 24 RBI on the year to go along with his 10 bombs. Encarnacion is powerful enough that his .227 batting average can be overlooked, and when the rest of the Blue Jays lineup heats up he should be an above-average contributor in RBI and runs.

Jose Reyes
D.L.
Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said it "would not surprise me" if Jose Reyes returned in late June.
Reyes had the walking boot on his left foot removed Tuesday and is evidently recovering a bit ahead of schedule, as he had been expected to sit out until around the All-Star break. The shortstop is still in the early stages of his recovery, though. A lot can happen over the next six weeks.

Rajai Davis
D.L.
Rajai Davis (oblique) has been sent to Florida to start his rehab.
Davis hasn't played since May 10 due to a strained oblique. Blue Jays manager John Gibbons doesn't expect it to be a long-term injury, so it's possible he could return later this month.

Josh Johnson
D.L.
Josh Johnson (triceps) will make at least two more rehab starts.
Johnson struck out five over three innings of one-run ball on Monday with High-A Dunedin. He's feeling good physically, but the right-hander obviously needs to build up his stamina. He'll rejoin the rotation in early June if he can avoid a setback.

J.A. Happ
D.L.
J.A. Happ (head, knee) is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks.
Happ will avoid throwing for a week before beginning to toss on flat ground. The Blue Jays are optimistic that the left-hander will be sidelined closer to four weeks. All things considered, that's about as good as Happ and the club could have hoped for.

Dustin McGowan
D.L.
Dustin McGowan (shoulder) will continue his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo.
McGowan allowed one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings with High-A Dunedin and notched four strikeouts. The Blue Jays can't count on him given his lengthy injury history, but he could be an option to join the bullpen later this month if all goes well.

Drew Hutchison
D.L.
Drew Hutchison (elbow) is on track to face live hitters in about three weeks.
Hutchison is currently making his way back from Tommy John surgery last August. While the 22-year-old right-hander is unlikely to see any game action until late in the season, he feels good about his progress. "You always want to do more but you know you have to follow the process and do what they tell you to do because that’s what’s in your best interest," said Hutchison. "I feel good, which is good, but you also realize that it’s the process and you need to follow the process."

Kyle Drabek
D.L.
Kyle Drabek (elbow) expects to throw live batting practice in the next week or two.
Drabek threw a bullpen session Monday in extended spring training. He's coming back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, so the Blue Jays figure to take things slow, but he could be looking at a return around midseason if all goes well.

Blue Jays transferred RHP Sergio Santos from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Thad Weber. Santos will be out until after the All-Star break following surgery to remove bone chips and spurs from his right elbow.

Darren Oliver
Sidelined
Darren Oliver said Thursday that he's been dealing with a sore pitching shoulder for the last 7-10 days.
Oliver has allowed a run in each of his last two appearances. When asked if he might need a DL stint, the lefty didn't dismiss the possibility. "I don’t know," he said. "I’m sure we’ll talk about it at some point." Consider him day-to-day for now.
