The Japanese website Sanspo.com reports that the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Central League are trying to sign David Aardsma.
Aardsma requested and was granted his released from the Marlins earlier this week, and it was evidently so that he could sign overseas. The right-hander has appeared in just one game at the big league level over the last two seasons due to Tommy John surgery.

Marlins released RHP David Aardsma.
Per Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, his minor league contract with the Marlins allowed Aardsma to opt out if he wasn't in the majors by May 15. The 31-year-old posted a 2.57 ERA and 12/8 K/BB ratio over 14 innings with Triple-A New Orleans. It shouldn't be long before he finds a new home.

Marlins signed RHP David Aardsma to a minor league contract.
Aardsma was released by the Yankees earlier this season and failed to draw any interest on waivers. He's missed the majority of the last two years due to Tommy John surgery, but will look to reestablish himself in the Marlins' bullpen. Aardsma has a career 4.22 ERA over parts of seven seasons in the majors.

Yankees released RHP David Aardsma.
Aardsma was designated for assignment by the Yankees on March 29 and apparently drew no interest on waivers. The right-hander will hope to get an offer soon.

Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Tuesday that he's unsure when Logan Morrison (knee) will begin a rehab assignment.
Morrison is playing in extended spring training games, but the Marlins want him to get more at-bats. "He hasn’t had many at-bats so I don’t know how far out he is before he starts his 20-day rehab," Redmond said. Barring a setback, LoMo should return sometime next month.

Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Casey Kotchman (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment "in the next few days."
Kotchman is finally feeling improvement with his strained left hamstring. He was moved to the 60-day DL last week, though, so he won't be eligible to return until June.

Marlins placed first baseman Joe Mahoney on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 28, with a right hamstring strain.
This puts the Marlins' top three first basemen -- Logan Morrison, Casey Kotchman and Mahoney -- all on the DL. They'll get by with Greg Dobbs and Chris Valaika at the position until Kotchman is activated.

There's no timetable for when he'll resume baseball activities, let alone when he'll return from the DL. Derek Dietrich will continue to serve as the primary second baseman for the Marlins.

Chris Valaika underwent successful surgery on Friday, having two pins inserted into his wrist.
Valaika is expected to require 4-6 weeks of healing time before he's able to return to the Marlins. He had been virtually ineffective in his 22 games before the injury, hitting .219/.261/.344 with one homer and nine RBI.

There's no timetable for when he might be ready to resume baseball activities. "No baseball activity but he’s running in the pool," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "I just go by what they tell me. From what I’ve heard, it’s a similar type of strain from what (Casey) Kotchman has. It’s taken a while for him. We really don’t have a time frame. It just depends on how fast he heals and how fast he feels like he can get back on the field."

It's not clear how long the Rule 5 pick will be out. Silverio missed the entire 2012 season after injuring his neck and back in an auto accident.

It's not clear when Eovaldi will be ready to throw from a mound, but he's moving in the right direction. The right-hander looks to be a little behind Henderson Alvarez, who should be ready to rejoin the Marlins' rotation in mid-May.

Four runs was actually a good showing for Sanabia, as he gave up nine hits and three walks on the night. The right-hander now has a 5.00 ERA and probably shouldn't be starting for a major league team, let alone a fantasy one. His next start will come Monday against the Phillies.
