Mets activated RHP Scott Atchison from the 15-day disabled list.

The Mets are allowed to have a 26th man for Tuesday's doubleheader, but they will have to make a roster move before Zack Wheeler makes his major league debut in the nightcap. While there's no official announcement yet, Justin Turner (intercostal) appears likely to be placed on the disabled list. Atchison, out since May 14 with elbow inflammation, returns to a 4.50 ERA and 6/6 K/BB ratio over 18 innings. Jun 18 - 11:08 AM

Niese allowed six hits and four walks, so it wasn't pretty, but he kept his team in the ballgame. However, a two-run single by opposing pitcher Scott Feldman in the fourth inning was enough to put him on the losing side. The southpaw has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last five starts and now owns a 4.15 ERA on the year. He'll face the Braves next week in Atlanta. Jun 15
