Gio Gonzalez lasted just four innings in Tuesday's NLDS Game 4 loss to the Giants, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and a walk.
It was an odd night for Gonzalez, as he pitched well for the most part other than a weird second inning. In that frame, Gonzalez didn't allow any hard-hit balls, but he made an error and saw runs come home on a bases-loaded walk and RBI groundout. He retired the next six hitters he faced after the inning but was pinch-hit for in the top of the fifth when the Nationals had a scoring chance. The Nats' starters gave up just two earned runs in the series. Wed, Oct 8, 2014 12:53:00 AM
