Glen Perkins tallied his 16th save of 2013 in the Twins' win over the Tigers on Saturday night.
Perkins pitched a perfect ninth inning, retiring all three batters he faced. He has a stellar 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 36/6 K/BB ratio in 25 2/3 innings this season.

Glen Perkins slammed the door on the Nationals in the 11th inning on Saturday, protecting a one-run lead and earning his 13th save of the season.
Perkins did allow a two-out single to Ian Desmond to put the tying run on base, but he dispatched Anthony Rendon on a fly out to end the game. Perkins has now converted 13-of-15 save chances on the season while posting a 2.78 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 34/6 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings. He's a very solid closer and remains undervalued in many fantasy leagues.

Glen Perkins rebounded from a blown save on Tuesday night to notch his 11th save against the Brewers on Wednesday.
Perkins clearly didn't let the blown save get him down, as he came back 24 hours later to close out the Brewers for his 11th save in 13 chances. The left-hander did it while striking out two batters, another positive sign for Perkins owners. Tuesday's hiccup was just that, a hiccup. He'll be fine.

Glen Perkins blew his second save of the season Tuesday, allowing a run on two hits, a walk and a hit batsman against the Brewers.
Perkins put the winning run on with a hit-by-pitch, illustrating the left-hander's struggles on the night. The blown save was Perkins' second in his last four appearances, but he's still converted 10-of-12 opportunities on the year. He's locked in as the Twins' closer, and it'll take more than a couple rough outings to change that.

Josh Willingham is not in the Twins' lineup Sunday after being given a cortisone shot in his ailing left knee.
The knee has been giving Willingham issues for a while, so the club decided it was best to give him a shot in hopes that it speeds along the recovery process. The outfielder is hoping to be back in the lineup Tuesday after Monday's off day. Oswaldo Arcia is starting in left field Sunday.

Wilkin Ramirez (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment in about a week if his workouts at the Twins' spring training complex go well.
Ramirez has been out since late May but is no longer experiencing concussion-related symptoms. He should rejoin the Twins before the end of the month.

Twins placed OF Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
Hicks is likely to be sidelined for around three weeks. The 23-year-old rookie center fielder is batting just .179/.249/.326 in 55 games this season but he does have six home runs, 19 RBI and four stolen bases. Oswaldo Arcia was called up in a corresponding move.

Darin Mastroianni has had the cast removed from his surgically-repaired left foot.
He'll now wear a walking boot for about two weeks. Mastroianni isn't expected back until after the All-Star break.

Wood has been out all season with a shoulder injury and recently had a setback. There's no timetable for his return.
