Ellis was supposed to play four innings and receive two at bats, but a rainy night at Double-A Chattanooga forced him out after only three innings and one at-bat. It's certainly encouraging news to hear that it wasn't an injury related setback that caused the early exit. May 17

SS	1	Hanley Ramirez D.L. Hanley Ramirez is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after an MRI confirmed the diagnosis of a left hamstring strain. Ramirez was placed on the disabled list over the weekend after he injured his hamstring during Friday's game. While there was initially some hope that he would be able to return at the minimum, he'll now likely be sidelined until the early part of June. Dee Gordon should get most of the playing time at shortstop for now. May 8

	2	Jerry Hairston Jr. D.L. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Friday that Jerry Hairston Jr. (knee, groin) had "a little bit of a setback." Hairston was placed on the disabled list earlier this month with a left groin strain, but he's now dealing with a knee issue. The setback means that he won't be activated from the DL next week when first eligible. The Dodgers are expected to send Hairston on a rehab assignment before he's cleared to return. May 18

	3	Josh Beckett D.L. Dodgers placed RHP Josh Beckett on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 14, with a left groin strain. Manager Don Mattingly said after Beckett's start Monday that the groin ailment was minor, but the Dodgers will play it safe. He seems likely to be activated when eligible or shortly after. Matthew Magill seems likely to get a start in Beckett's place, and Ted Lilly (rib cage) could be ready next week. May 15
	4	Chad Billingsley D.L. Dodgers transferred RHP Chad Billingsley from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Scott Van Slyke on the 40-man roster. Billingsley had season-ending Tommy John surgery last month and will likely miss the early part of 2014. May 10

	7	Ted Lilly D.L. Ted Lilly allowed four runs over five innings Wednesday in a rehab start at High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Lilly wasn't exactly sharp, yielding five hits and three walks, but he felt no discomfort in his rib cage and is hoping to return to the Dodgers' rotation next week. The Dodgers were aggressive with Zack Greinke (clavicle) and might as well be aggressive with Lilly. May 16
	8	Stephen Fife D.L. Stephen Fife (shoulder) has resumed a throwing program. Fife made a spot start with the Dodgers earlier this season, but has been sidelined since April 22. He'll likely be optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque when he's healthy enough to return. May 11

Tolleson was placed on the disabled list April 15 with a lower back strain and now needs surgery to repair the injury.
