J.A. Happ allowed four runs in two innings against the Orioles on Thursday.
Neither Happ nor Orioles starter Chris Tillman were long for this game, as the contest was delayed for a long stretch during the third inning. Rain or no, Happ started out terribly enough, allowing a two-out grand slam to Steve Pearce in the first inning. He struck out three and walked two in his short time on the mound. While his 3.61 ERA and 1.20 WHIP are fine, as is his 37/11 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings, owners should be cautioned that the last time Happ posted an ERA under 4.22 was in 2010. In his continued quest to defy his own history, Happ will take to the road for a start against the Rays in his next outing. May 21 - 6:23 PM
