J.A. Happ surrendered four hits, two runs and one walk over five innings of work Saturday in a loss to the Indians in Game 2 of the ALCS.
He also collected four strikeouts. Happ didn’t pitch badly. He just wasn’t as good as Josh Tomlin, who was lights out for the Indians on Saturday. Carlos Santana clobbered an off-speed pitch from Happ in the second inning and promptly deposited it into the left field bleachers for a solo home run. Happ issued another run in the third inning and also committed a throwing error on a pick-off attempt in the fifth, though he escaped without allowing a run. The left-hander would likely start Game 6 for the Blue Jays, if there is one. Sat, Oct 15, 2016 07:31:00 PM
