Carlos Santana went 1-for-2 with four walks in Thursday's blowout win against the Boston.
He also scored three runs. Santana owners enjoyed a spectacular April out of their star catcher and then suffered through a rough May prior to Wednesday (182/.316/.333). In Cleveland's last two games, Santana is 3-for-6 with a homer, five walks, two RBI and four runs. He's third in the AL in walks (29) and fourth in OPS (.975).
May 24 - 12:02 AM
Carlos Santana went 2-for-4 with a home run in the loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.
After a red hot April, Santana was hitting just .182/.316/.333 heading into Wednesday's game. Backup catcher Yan Gomes has been playing more frequently lately, but Santana's bat plays at first base and he even gets an occasional game at DH, too. No matter how they arrange it, Santana will be in the middle of the Indians lineup more often than not.
May 23 - 12:40 AM
Carlos Santana is not in the Indians' starting lineup on Thursday afternoon against the A's.
It's just a routine day off for Santana, who is batting .358/.455/.674 with seven home runs and 15 RBI in 27 games this season. Yan Gomes will start at catcher.

Carlos Santana singled and launched a solo homer in Sunday's loss to the Twins.
Santana's blast off of closer Glen Perkins in the ninth pulled the Tribe to within two runs, but they weren't able to tack on any more. The Indians' backstop now has six longballs to go along with a .379 batting mark, and he also drew his 15 walk in the game.

Lou Marson
D.L.
Lou Marson (shoulder) admitted Monday that there is no timetable for his return to the Indians' active roster.
Marson has begun throwing but is not yet performing any other baseball activities due to lingering soreness in his shoulder and neck. "It's definitely frustrating," the catcher told MLB.com. "I know what it is and kind of what I have to do. Hopefully, I can get on the field soon."

Brett Myers (elbow) will make at least one more rehab start.
Myers' velocity was down on Wednesday in his second rehab outing with Double-A Akron, and he walked four while allowing three runs over 4 1/3 frames. Assuming his velocity comes back up the next time out, he could rejoin the Indians' rotation after that.

Josh Tomlin
D.L.
Josh Tomlin (Tommy John surgery) could return near the end of the season.
Tomlin went under the knife last August. At this point in his rehab, it's hard to predict if a 2013 return is in the cards. Tomlin has said he'd rather be 100 percent for 2014 rather than making a premature late-season return this year. The right-hander posted a 6.36 ERA in 16 starts and five relief appearances with the Indians last season.

Blake Wood
D.L.
Blake Wood (elbow) will continue his minor league rehab assignment Wednesday with Class A Lake County.
Wood felt some soreness in his surgically-repaired elbow during his first appearance on Saturday, but it was only a minor scare. The 27-year-old right-hander is currently in recovery mode from Tommy John surgery and will likely need a handful of appearances before he's a legitimate consideration for the major league roster.

Frank Herrmann
D.L.
Indians transferred RHP Frank Herrmann from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Robert Whitenack on the 40-man roster. Herrmann had Tommy John surgery in March and will miss the entire 2013 season.
