Justin Turner cracked a pair of homers in Tuesday's defeat of the Giants.
He led off the bottom of the first inning with a round-tripper to give Los Angeles a 1-0 lead that it never relinquished. Even still, Turner's solo job in the eighth provided an insurance run that Kenley Jansen surely appreciated in the ninth inning with a runner on second and Hunter Pence at the plate (he popped out to right). The Dodgers have clinched at least a tie for the NL West. With Clayton Kershaw on the bump for Los Angeles on Wednesday, it would appear prudent to start chilling the champagne immediately. Turner has been a serious NL-only contributor this year, batting .333 with seven homers. The Mets, who curiously non-tendered the infielder over the winter, would like him back. Sep 24 - 1:05 AM
