Clete Thomas went 4-for-4 with two RBI as the Twins rallied to beat the Phillies 4-3 on Wednesday.
You read that correctly. The reserve, who was just 1-for-13 in the five games since being recalled entering Wednesday, doubled twice and scored the winning run in the eighth inning. He was hitting .296/.385/.576 with nine home runs for the Twins' Triple-A affiliate before being recalled, so it's not as though he's incapable of producing, but nights like Wednesday come few and far between for the 29-year-old these days.

Twins purchased the contract of OF Clete Thomas from Triple-A Rochester.
Thomas has spent all season with the Twins' Triple-A affiliate and was batting .296/.385/.576 with nine home runs over 36 games. The 29-year-old will provide depth at all three outfield spots.

Twins re-signed OF Clete Thomas to a minor league contract.
Thomas made the Tigers' Opening Day roster last season, but struggled mightily with the Twins after being claimed off waivers. The 29-year-old outfielder will likely serve as veteran insurance in the minors.

Twins sent OF Clete Thomas outright to Triple-A Rochester.
Thomas was designated for assignment Friday but has cleared waivers and will remain with the organization. Given his woeful performance with the Twins, it's unlikely we'll see him again anytime soon.

Ramirez has been out since late May but is no longer experiencing concussion-related symptoms. He should rejoin the Twins before the end of the month.
