Julio Teheran fired off seven innings of scoreless ball while taking a no-decision in Saturday's win over the Mets.
Teheran and Jacob deGrom were locked in a scoreless pitcher's duel over the first seven innings of the contest. While neither man would break, the Braves bullpen proved fallible after Teheran exited stage left. But so too did the Mets' bullpen, which allowed a late comeback by the home team after New York took a 3-0 lead in the top of the eighth inning. Teheran struck out six and walked one on the evening. This makes three consecutive outings in which the 27-year-old right-hander has surrendered two or fewer runs while lasting six or more innings. His ERA still sits at 4.00 on the season, but he's clearly taking steps in the right direction. He'll try to keep it going in a road start against the Reds next time he takes to the rubber.
