Athletics optioned RHP Michael Ynoa to Low-A Beloit.
Ynoa is no longer a highly regarded prospect, but the Athletics are still expecting big things from him. He'll be forced to repeat at the Low-A level in 2013 after being limited to just 14 appearances there last season.

Ynoa was delayed due to a case of chicken pox, but he's now fully recovered. The 21-year-old right-hander hopes to be ready to pitch in a game in two weeks.

Athletics prospect right-hander Michael Ynoa hasn't reported to camp due to chicken pox.
Ynoa is expected to be stuck at home in the Dominican Republic for another 6-10 business days. The 21-year-old right-hander has been a huge disappointment since getting a $4.25 million bonus as a 16-year-old in 2008, but the A's still elected to protect him in the recent Rule 5 Draft.

Athletics purchased the contract of RHP Michael Ynoa from Low-A Vermont.
Oakland's big international signing back in 2008, Ynoa has had trouble staying healthy and has had little success in the lower minors for the A's. But, he's still just 21 years old and the A's weren't willing to risk losing him in the Rule 5 Draft.

Anderson is still working his way back from a stress fracture in his right foot and will be forced to remain in a walking boot for at least another four weeks. The Athletics have transferred him to the 60-day disabled list and he won't be reevaluated until after the All-Star break.

Rodriguez will miss the entire 2013 season. The 28-year-old had a 5.37 and 78/34 K/BB ratio over 70 1/3 innings last season with the Astros and was acquired in February's Jed Lowrie deal.
