Bryce Harper (knee) has been cleared to resume strengthening activities.
Harper experienced "a little puffiness" in his left knee while doing range of motion exercises on Saturday, but that wasn't a cause for alarm. The 20-year-old will now progress from walking and jogging to running and other baseball activities. It's not clear how long the process will take, but if he keeps improving, it could happen quickly. A return before the end of the month appears realistic.

Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Bryce Harper had "a little puffiness" in his left knee after doing some range of motion exercises on Saturday.
Johnson was quick to point out that the team's training staff wasn't concerned, as some minor swelling seemed to be expected. Harper will resume baseball activities early this week before hopefully beginning a rehab assignment before the end of the week. Harper hasn’t played since May 26, when he aggravated his left knee bursitis.

Bryce Harper (knee) plans on testing his injured knee when the team travels to Philadelphia next week.
Manager Davey Johnson also said that Harper could perform baseball activities at that time if he's feeling up to it. If all goes well with that, he could be cleared for a minor league rehab assignment. He was given platelet-rich plasma and cortisone shots in the knee on Monday, and had to be shut down completely for one week. If everything goes smoothly, he could return to the Nationals' lineup before the end of the month.

Bryce Harper has been given platelet-rich plasma and cortisone shots in the bursa sac of his left knee and will be shut down for the next week.
He received the injections on Monday from Dr. James Andrews, who also confirmed the Nationals' diagnosis of patella bursitis in the outfielder's left knee. Harper will wear a brace over the next week in order to immobilize the knee before the Nats determine whether he's ready to resume baseball activities. He should be activated later this month if his recovery goes smoothly.

Wilson Ramos
D.L.
The recent setback suffered by Wilson Ramos (hamstring) was minor, and is only expected to sideline him a few extra days.
Manager Davey Johnson initially suggested it could add weeks to his timetable, but that appeared to be a very cautious estimate. Ramos, who has been plagued with recurring hamstring injuries, is hoping to return around the All-Star break.

D.L.
Danny Espinosa (wrist) said that he felt fine after his first minor league rehab game with Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Espinosa went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a strikeout in the contest. Nationals' skipper Davey Johnson indicated that he wants Espinosa to regain his timing and to feel good about himself from both sides of the plate before returning to the lineup.

Bryce Harper
D.L.

Ryan Mattheus
D.L.
Ryan Mattheus is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a fractured right hand.
Mattheus won't require surgery, but since the injury is to his pitching hand he can't do a whole lot while out. He'll have to build his arm strength back up once out of his cast.

Christian Garcia
D.L.
Christian Garcia (shoulder, forearm) has been shut down from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse.
Garcia has been dealing with shoulder issues and is expected to receive treatment and be rested as a precautionary measure. The Nationals want Garcia to make four or five straight rehab outings without any problems before returning from the disabled list. Garcia has yet to pitch at the major league level this season due to a partial tendon tear in his forearm. He has a 2.57 ERA and eight strikeouts in seven innings over his first five rehab appearances.
