Tyler Skaggs showed no rust in carving up the Royals on Tuesday, allowing just three hits over seven scoreless innings in the Angels' 13-0 victory.
Making his first major league start since July 31, 2014, Skaggs was brilliant, needing just 88 pitches to get through his seven innings. He walked one and struck out five before exiting. The 25-year-old, who is working his way back from elbow and shoulder issues, had similar success in minor league rehab starts leading up to Tuesday, so it wasn't a total surprise, but dominating Triple-A opponents and flaying the defending World Series champs are two different things. Skaggs is definitely worth a mixed league flyer, and we'll get a better idea of what we're looking at when he squares off with the potent Red Sox offense on Sunday. Jul 27 - 12:17 AM
