Aaron Sanchez lasted just four innings Thursday, allowing four runs in a loss to the Athletics.
It was an odd start for the right-hander, who, when he wasn't giving up one of his five hits allowed or issuing one of four walks, was striking out eight over his four innings of work. It was the third straight start in which he's failed to go six innings, a troubling trend after he went at least 5 2/3 innings in each of his first six starts of the year. The poor, abbreviated outings have caused his ERA and WHIP to inflate, leaving them at 4.47 and 1.53, respectively, through nine starts. Sanchez will look to figure some things out Wednesday against the Angels. May 18 - 1:04 AM
