Addison Reed picked up his 16th save on Tuesday in the White Sox' victory over the Red Sox.
Reed's 16 saves now rank behind only Jason Grilli and Mariano Rivera for the league lead, and he's blown just one opportunity on the year. The right-hander owns a 2.14 ERA and 1.05 WHIP, having struck out 24 batters in 21 innings. And after serving up six home runs last season, he's yet to be taken deep thus far. It's shaping up to be a big year for the young righty.

Addison Reed twirled a perfect ninth inning against the Angels Thursday for his 13th save.
Now 13-for-14 in save conversions, Reed is sitting pretty with a 2.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 22/8 K/BB rate over 18 innings. The 24-year-old is a top-tier fantasy closer.

Addison Reed worked a scoreless ninth inning against the Twins for his 12th save of the season on Tuesday.
Reed allowed a single but limited any further damage, picking up his 12th save in 13 chances. The right-hander was shaky in his last outing, a non-save situation against the Mets on May 8, so it was nice to see him work a relatively quiet ninth to preserve the win Tuesday. The 24-year-old remains a strong fantasy option at closer.

Addison Reed recorded his ninth save of the season Wednesday, working a scoreless ninth inning as the White Sox downed the Rangers.
It wasn't without some drama, as Reed hit A.J. Pierzynski and allowed a single to Ian Kinsler with two outs. He bore down, though, and got Elvis Andrus swinging to end the threat and the game. It hasn't always been pretty, but Reed is a perfect 9-for-9 in save chances and is striking out over a batter per inning. He's a top tier fantasy closer so far.

Gordon Beckham isn't playing Friday with Triple-A Charlotte due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand.
Beckham had surgery in mid-April to remove the hamate bone from his hand, so the White Sox don't want to take any chances. He's expected to be held out of action until next Wednesday at the earliest.

Chris Sale (shoulder) played catch on Saturday and has deemed himself ready to make his Tuesday start.
"Everything is on track and I’ll be ready to go on Tuesday," Sale said, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. He was scratched from his turn this past Wednesday due to mild tendinitis in his left posterior shoulder but is feeling better after a few days of rest. It's great news for Sale owners, as the left-hander has a 5-2 record and 2.53 ERA through nine starts this season.

Gavin Floyd underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow.
The surgeon told the White Sox that the operation "could not have gone better." However, since he needed two major areas operated on, the recovery is expected to be 14-19 months rather than the standard 12 months for Tommy John surgery. With that timetable, Floyd probably shouldn't be counted on for a whole lot in 2014. He'll be a free agent over the winter.

Septimo has been out all season with a left shoulder strain. He's begun a rehab assignment but now will not be eligible to return until May 22.
