Brad Peacock fired 3 2/3 innings of no-hit, shutout baseball to earn a save in a 5-3 defeat of the Dodgers in World Series Game 3 on Friday.
What a time to earn the first save of his major league career. He was called upon to put down a potential Dodger rally in the sixth inning, entering the game with runners on second and third with one out. He ended up allowing both inherited runners to score -- the first on a fielder's choice grounder hit by Yasiel Puig and the second on a wild pitch. After that he was lights out, making it through the rest of the game without allowing a single ht. The Astros' bullpen has been shaky this post-season so manager A.J. Hinch opted to ride Peacock all the way and the gamble paid off. After throwing 53 pitches today it is unlikely Peacock will pitch again unless the series makes it back to Los Angeles on Tuesday.
