Lagares, 24, owns a .282/.322/.405 batting line over parts of eight seasons in the minors. He doesn't have the best approach at the plate, but can hit lefties and is capable of playing all three outfield positions. S	1	Jon Niese Sidelined Jon Niese yielded two runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday. He struck out five. Niese allowed six hits and four walks, so it wasn't pretty, but he kept his team in the ballgame. However, a two-run single by opposing pitcher Scott Feldman in the fourth inning was enough to put him on the losing side. The southpaw has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last five starts and now owns a 4.15 ERA on the year. He'll face the Braves next week in Atlanta. Jun 15

He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June.
