| 2 | Logan Forsythe D.L.Padres transferred INF Logan Forsythe from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Forsythe had surgery in early March to remove the fractured sesamoid bone from his left foot. There's no timetable for the veteran infielder's return to action. May 5 |
| SS | 1 | Jason Bartlett D.L.Dan Hayes of the North County Times writes that the Padres have "made it clear the shortstop position is (Everth) Cabrera's to win." Jason Bartlett (knee) was placed on the DL Thursday, and he'll likely slide into a backup role when he returns or possibly follow Orland Hudson to the unemployment line. "It wasn't working here," general manager Josh Byrnes said. "(The move) wasn't motivated by money, it was motivated by trying someone new to see if we can get better performance. Obviously our record is not what we want. This particular move is to see if these guys can give us a shot in the arm. Jason understands these guys are coming up and there's no guarantee of a job waiting on the other side. That's just the way we're set up now." May 18 |

| 3B | 1 | Chase Headley SidelinedChase Headley is not in Tuesday's lineup due to lower back tightness. It's a recurrence of an injury that he first suffered in spring training. Headley is missing only his second start of the season, and, until further notice, should be considered day-to-day. May 22 |
| 2 | James Darnell D.L.An MRI on James Darnell's left shoulder showed that his surgically-repaired labrum was intact. Good news. Darnell will have another MRI in a few weeks to be sure, but it sounds like he's avoided another major injury. He doesn't have a timetable to return, however. May 20 |
| LF | 1 | Jesus Guzman |
| 2 | Kyle Blanks D.L.Padres transferred INF-OF Kyle Blanks from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. It's just a procedural move to get him off the 40-man roster, as Blanks is already out for the season following surgery to repair the labrum in his left shoulder. May 2 |
| 3 | Chris Denorfia |
| CF | 1 | Cameron Maybin |
| 2 | Mark Kotsay D.L.Mark Kotsay (back) received a cortisone injection Monday. Kotsay had to exit last Saturday's game with tightness in his lower back. Barring a setback, he should be back when eligible. May 22 |
| RF | 1 | Carlos Quentin D.L.Carlos Quentin (knee) is headed to the Padres' spring training complex in Arizona to resume baseball-related activities. It's not a good sign when you go from playing in rehab games to performing drills in extended spring training, but at least Quentin will be active again. The outfielder had a cortisone shot in his surgically-repaired right knee last week after experiencing a setback. He's without a timetable. May 20 |
| 2 | Will Venable |
| 3 | Jeremy Hermida D.L.Jeremy Hermida underwent surgery Tuesday afternoon in Philadelphia to repair a sports hernia. Hermida is expected to miss between four and six weeks, meaning he will be out until at least mid-June. The 28-year-old outfielder was 6-for-24 before the injury. May 15 |

| 2 | Cory Luebke D.L.Cory Luebke is scheduled to undergo Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Wednesday. An MRI taken earlier this month revealed a partially-torn ligament in Luebke's left elbow. He considered rehabbing the injury and got a few different opinions from specialists but ultimately decided to go under the knife. The 27-year-old will be sidelined through the first few months of the 2013 season. He posted a 2.61 ERA and 23/8 K/BB ratio in 31 innings (five starts) this year. May 21 |
| 3 | Clayton Richard |
| 4 | Tim Stauffer D.L.Tim Stauffer (elbow) confirmed he's experiencing the same soreness he did in late March when he was initially injured. Stauffer is awaiting the results of an MRI on Friday and remains without a timetable. "It's the same sensation I was feeling earlier when it wasn't recovering," he said. "Obviously, it's very frustrating, just trying to get a handle on what's going on and what needs to be done." Stauffer was making his first start since beginning the year on the disabled list. The Padres claimed Eric Stults off waivers to replace him in the starting rotation. May 19 |
| 5 | Anthony Bass |
| 6 | Joe Wieland D.L.Joe Wieland (elbow) is aiming to begin a throwing program within the next few days. Wieland has been on the disabled list (retroactively) since May 7 and should be ready to return shortly after he's eligible. The 22-year-old right-hander had a 4.55 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 24/9 K/BB ratio through his first 27 2/3 innings this season. May 16 |
| 7 | Jeff Suppan |
| 8 | Eric Stults |
| 9 | Dustin Moseley D.L.Padres transferred RHP Dustin Moseley from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Dale Thayer on the 40-man roster. Moseley underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his throwing shoulder and will likely be out until some point during the 2013 season. Apr 26 |

| R | 1 | Huston Street D.L.Huston Street (lat) played catch prior to Tuesday's game and reported no discomfort. "He feels good," Padres manager Bud Black said. "He went free and easy, no pain." Black said Street will throw a long-toss session soon, and a bullpen session will follow that. He's expected to make at least two rehab appearances before rejoining the Padres, so it sounds like we won't see him until June. May 22 |

| 3 | Andrew Cashner |
| 4 | Luke Gregerson |
| 5 | Joe Thatcher |
| 6 | Micah Owings D.L.Micah Owings (forearm) is headed to extended spring training to resume baseball-related activities. Owings has been out since late April with a strained right forearm. He's on the 60-day DL and won't be eligible to return until late June. May 20 |
