Brandon Barnes went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a steal against the Yankees on Monday.

The Astros would be better off using Barnes in center and Fernando Martinez in right with Justin Maxwell out, but they appear to be committed to giving Robbie Grossman a chance in center for now, which leaves Barnes with a part-time role in right. Barnes has excelled right since the start of the spring, and he's now hitting .405 in 37 at-bats on the season. Apr 29 - 10:41 PM

	6	Paul Clemens Sidelined Paul Clemens left Monday's appearance with a right pinkie injury. Clemens was struck by a comebacker and appeared to dislocate the finger, but the Astros' trainer popped it back in place and he stayed in to face one more batter. The club reconsidered after that, though, and decided to remove him. Clemens saved the bullpen with 5 1/3 scoreless relief frames after Erik Bedard lasted only 1/3 of an inning. Apr 16

White showed diminished velocity this spring and was diagnosed with a strained pitching elbow, but the injury turned out to be worse than that.
