Brewers sent RHP Arcenio Leon outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Leon was designated for assignment earlier this week and passed through waivers unclaimed. He posted a 4.38 ERA in 63 2/3 innings last season at Double-A.

Brewers designated RHP Arcenio Leon for assignment.
The move was needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Mike Gonzalez. Leon, who has put up an unremarkable 4.40 ERA over eight minor league seasons, was claimed off waivers from the Astros back in November.

Leon struck out over a batter per inning between Double- and Triple-A this season but put up an underwhelming 4.38 ERA. He'll compete for a middle relief job in spring training.

It's the first time he's done so since undergoing knee surgery. Hart admitted that the running was "awkward," but he could be ready for a rehab assignment in about a week. The assignment is expected to take a while, so it will likely be well into June before Hart is activated.

It's a procedural move, as Gamel required surgery in early March to repair a torn right ACL and is expected to miss the entire 2013 season. The Brewers now have an opening on their 40-man roster.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Wednesday that Kyle Lohse began feeling discomfort in his right elbow "two or three starts ago" and was recovering slower than usual between starts.
As a result, the Brewers have scratched him from his next scheduled start on Saturday. The Brewers are hopeful that it's not a major issue, but this isn't what you want to hear from someone who is in the first year of a three-year, $33 million contract.

Brewers placed RHP Hiram Burgos on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 22, with a right shoulder impingement.
The move clears a spot for Tom Gorzelanny's return from the disabled list. The severity of Burgos' injury isn't yet clear and the Brewers haven't announced who will start in his place Tuesday. The rookie right-hander has a 6.44 ERA and 18/11 K/BB ratio in 29 1/3 innings over six starts this season.

The Brewers were using Narveson in relief before he suffered a sprained middle finger in early April, but injuries could provide him with an opportunity in the starting rotation. It's not clear how many starts he'll make in the minors before being activated.

Henderson injured the hamstring during Friday's game, and it turned out to be severe enough to require a trip to the DL. A corresponding roster move will be made on Sunday. There is no indication as to who might save games while Henderson is out. Francisco Rodriguez and John Axford are the primary candidates.

Mark Rogers (shoulder) has been pulled from his minor league rehab assignment.
Rogers had a rough 11.12 ERA and 1/8 K/BB ratio in 5 2/3 innings with Double-A Huntsville and left his most recent appearance on Tuesday due to tingling in his right arm. The 27-year-old has a long injury history and began the season on the disabled list with what was termed as right shoulder instability. He has been sent back to Phoenix for further testing, after which we should know more about the next step.
