Marlins catching prospect J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a double, walk, and three stolen bases for Double-A Jacksonville on Monday.
Realmuto is hitting .293/.362/.444 with 24 doubles, four triples, and six home runs in Double-A this season, and has 17 stolen bases. He is an athletic catcher who has the potential to hit .280 with 15 home runs while stealing a handful of bases. His near-term role is muddled by Jarrod Saltalmacchia's being signed through the 2016 season, but the Marlins perpetual ability to trade established veterans has to give young players, much like Realmuto, a chance.
