Collin McHugh improved to 4-0 on the season Saturday, holding the Mariners to four runs over seven innings.
Not the greatest start on earth, but 4-0 is 4-0. Like his 17-7 team, McHugh's just getting things done. McHugh was in a giving mood in the second inning, as the Mariners hit three solo home runs in the frame, but he recovered from the early charity and allowed just one run the rest of the way. This is a good sign for his development, as it would have been very easy to unravel after the three homers. McHugh struck out four and walked three while scattering six hits across his seven innings. With a 3.41 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 27/7 K/BB ratio over 31 2/3 innings, he has more than held his own to this point. He will try to continue his winning ways when the Astros take on the Angels in his next start. May 3 - 12:21 AM
