Marlins prospect outfielder Kolby Copeland was suspended 50 games for refusing to take an offseason drug test.

Copeland was selected in third round last year and batted .280/.330/.397 with zero homers, 34 RBI and four stolen bases in 62 games between rookie ball and Low-A Jamestown in his pro debut. Now he'll get a late start on his 2013 season. The 19-year-old was ranked as the organization's No. 18 prospect by Baseball America this winter. Mar 5 - 2:58 PM

Morrison has spent the past week with the High-A Jupiter Hammerheads, collecting three hits and one RBI in 13 at-bats. He's working his way back from September surgery to repair a torn patella tendon in his right knee and is currently aiming to join the Marlins in early June. NL-only leaguers might want to stash him now. May 23
	2	Casey Kotchman D.L. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Casey Kotchman (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment "in the next few days." Kotchman is finally feeling improvement with his strained left hamstring. He was moved to the 60-day DL last week, though, so he won't be eligible to return until June. May 14
	3	Joe Mahoney D.L. Joe Mahoney (hamstring) is expected to begin playing in rehab games Sunday at Triple-A New Orleans. Mahoney was placed on the disabled list April 28 with a right hamstring strain. He'll beat Logan Morrison (knee) back to the Marlins' active roster but will probably be sent back to Triple-A when LoMo is deemed fully healthy. Mahoney, 26, carries no fantasy value. May 23
2B	1	Donovan Solano D.L. Donovan Solano's strained left intercostal muscle remains sore. There's no timetable for when he'll resume baseball activities, let alone when he'll return from the DL. Derek Dietrich will continue to serve as the primary second baseman for the Marlins. May 14
	2	Chris Valaika D.L. Chris Valaika underwent successful surgery on Friday, having two pins inserted into his wrist. Valaika is expected to require 4-6 weeks of healing time before he's able to return to the Marlins. He had been virtually ineffective in his 22 games before the injury, hitting .219/.261/.344 with one homer and nine RBI. May 10

	2	Austin Kearns D.L. Marlins transferred OF Austin Kearns to the restricted list. Kearns was already on the bereavement list, so it's just a procedural move to give him more time. Kyle Skipworth has taken Kearns' spot on the roster. May 12
	3	Matt Diaz D.L. Marlins placed OF Matt Diaz on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 19, with a left knee contusion. Diaz should be ready to return to the active roster as soon as he's eligible. The 35-year-old is batting just .167/.211/.222 in 10 games this season with the Marlins. May 20

RF	1	Giancarlo Stanton D.L. Giancarlo Stanton took live batting practice Wednesday for the first time since straining his right hamstring. "He looked good," manager Mike Redmond said afterward. "I’m just going off the results. He was hitting them out. It’s another encouraging sign that he’s a little closer to being back on the field." Stanton has been on the disabled list since April 30 and is still without a timetable. The best guess is that he's activated around mid-June. May 23

	3	Alfredo Silverio D.L. Marlins placed OF Alfredo Silverio on the 60-day disabled list with a sprained right elbow. It's not clear how long the Rule 5 pick will be out. Silverio missed the entire 2012 season after injuring his neck and back in an auto accident. Mar 31

	2	Nathan Eovaldi D.L. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Thursday that Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) has been progressing with his long-toss program. It's not clear when Eovaldi will be ready to throw from a mound, but he's moving in the right direction. The right-hander looks to be a little behind Henderson Alvarez, who should be ready to rejoin the Marlins' rotation in mid-May. Apr 26
	3	Kevin Slowey Sidelined Kevin Slowey left Wednesday's start against the Phillies after the fifth inning with a left lat strain. The Marlins are calling him day-to-day, so it's evidently a minor strain. He will be reevaluated on Thursday before it's determined whether he can make his next start. Slowey was pitching well Wednesday before getting hurt, tossing five innings of one-run ball on six hits and no walks while recording six strikeouts. May 22
