Dilson Herrera has fully recovered from his shoulder injury and is expected to be a full participant in spring training.
Herrera was the Reds' big return in the Jay Bruce trade with the Mets in August of 2016, but soon hurt his shoulder and has struggled to stay on the field since. He is now out of minor league options, meaning the Reds will have to keep him in the majors or risk losing him on waivers. Herrera was once a top prospect who reached the majors at the tender age of 20 and is still quite young (he turns 24 on March 3rd). He will battle for a utility role with the big club this spring but has the talent to eventually become a quality everyday starter. Feb 16 - 7:26 PM
