Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told John Harper of the New York Daily News that if prospect Robert Refsnyder is called up, it will likely be as an outfielder.
Refsnyder has exclusively played second base this season, but Cashman sent word to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in recent days that he'd like to see him get some work in the outfield. "I’m not presently looking to call him up, but he’s demanding that we pay attention," Cashman said. "If he came up here (in the coming weeks), it would likely be in the outfield." Refsnyder, 23, owns a .333/.402/.548 batting line with 11 home runs, 43 RBI, and eight stolen bases over 87 games this season between Double- and Triple-A. The Yankees are hurting for offense at the moment, so he could make an impact in the majors soon. Jul 8 - 1:53 PM
